If you follow the nutrient calculator you aren't generally going to run into problems, especially if you're paranoid like me and run it a bit lower just to be safe (which I do regardless of whose product I'm using, btw).
You don't have to use the entire line-up, either. It's really not that complicated anyway. It just can seem like that at first, but once you've mixed a couple resses it's no biggie.
BTW, don't talk about MJ with the Advanced Nutrients Tech Support guys. They're supposed to hang up on you if you say that's what you're growing, to cover their butts from a legal standpoint. If they ask what you're growing just say tomatoes or that you'd rather not say. They can get in trouble for specifically giving you advice on growing weed because there's a lot of nazis that would love to bust AN for giving advice to pot growers. |
It's totally sad that someone who creates products for MJ can't talk about the fact that their products help a certain kind of plant. Oh, the world we live in. Thankfully, it seems like companies like Advanced Nutrients are actually starting to make a different by being a bit more up front about what they are trying to help growers do.
Which is funny now that I think about it since apparently they can't talk to customers directly about how their products can be helpful. Something about that seems just plain wrong.
I mean, there are plenty of books on how to grow great canna, so how aren't these authors getting in trouble?
Anywho, I agree with Aeroherbs. Start slow with any product, just as you would with anything. That way, you can see how picky your plants are (ahem, your tomatoes) and then go from there. I've had some plants LOVE the full run of AN products, while others have simply needed just a few enhancers here and there.
Back to tend my tomatoes....
