UVB light guide

Ok, There has been many discussions about UVB lights. I guess they will continue.
But here goes. I found this on the web, that clearly explains the process of UVB waves and how it influences the Marijuana plant.
It's still under discussion what impact it does. Is the impact on the psychoactivity of the THC, rather than an increase in THC? Dont think we will ever know for sure, but just to try it out ourselves!
I believe strongly in this UVB theory, and I think others to do.
I'm currently experimenting with UVB lights, and I will post feedback asap.
Either way, with or without UVB, you will still get good buds
Here are some links for your questions.

Some quick answered questions:

1. Where can I get UVB lamps?
You can get them from animal shops for reptiles.
Couple of lamps you can search for are Repti glo, repti sun and Zilla

There is different UVB output on the lamp?
The more the merrier, get a high output lamp (10.0 or 25.0 UVB)

CFL or Flouroscent?
I've read that flouroscent are better than CFL

Metal Halide lamps burst out UVB rays
Yes that's true, but most MH lamps filter out UVB rays.

Is UVB light hazardous?
YES! being under UVB lights for long periods of time is hazardous to your skin. Keep the UVB on a different timer so you can turn it of when working with your plants.

What time should I use UVB light?
From what I've read, keep it the same as your normal light timers.

I hope this will be a sticky

Re: UVB light guide

I found this interesting, there are a lot of topics for discusion upon the use of THC in the marijuana plant, that is to say why the plants produce it.

I've heard of everything from an anti pesticide effect, to the use of THC as a natural sunscreen for plants.

The later of which makes sense to a certain degree, the real question is : If we increase the amount of UV light the plant receives, will it increase the THC level, decrease it, or simply do nothing?

(bump btw.)
