Hydroponics General Advice Needed

Hello! OK so I am going to be starting my first grow somewhat soon and I wanted to get some advice. I am getting a nice stealth hydro setup going in the near future and this is what I am using:


Setup:

• Full Spectrum 125w Florescent Lighting System
• Dual output airpump
• Aerator stones
• Timer
• 3 Fans (2 Exhaust and 1 Coming In)

Other Stuff:

• Flora Series Concentrate (All stages of flowering covered)
• pH test kit and pH Up / pH Down to adjust if needed
• Rockwool Starter Cubes
• Sterilized High Quality Hydroton Rocks

Is my setup sounding pretty good? Would it be ok to use Flora Series Concentrate for nutrients or would you recommend something else? I am a complete noob to hydro and growing so my supplies are just going off of things I have read and comparing different setups. Do I use the rockwool starter cubes to put germinated seeds in? Does ONA Odor Killing Puck work well and how is it used? Sorry for all the questions and I apologize if there is a FAQ thread that I missed with these answers. If you can help by posting or pointing me to another thread I will be extremely thankful!

Your setup sounds fine, but I do have a few comments.
The ph kits suck, get a pen or real monitor.
You should think about getting an EC meter, TDS, PPM whatever, to monitor your water especially if your going with hydro it's a must.
Flora stuff is good I hear, I'm going to be switching to the "Lucas formula" soon and am thinking of using that line.
Your going to need a fan on the plants, not just ventilation.

Keep a journal with pictures so all of us can chime in when you need help and can watch your babies grow.

What's an EC meter for? I don't mind picking one up but I am curious of what it is used for. I will definitely have a fan on the plants and the temperature will be strictly regulated. Thanks for the help and future help

Give us more specifics on the box size and location.
GH has the two part and the three part nutes,i use the three part but "WE" only use two parts of that food when we use the Lucas system.
What fans are they?
Have you got anything together yet,or just in the planning stage?
What part of the world are you in?

That meter is used to measure dissolved salts,EC in Europe and ppm in the states most of the time.
Its the nutrient content within a given solution and is a great thing to have.

Good friend right? I like to thinks so after seeing the price tag. I have seen a lot of people blast this kind of stealth box before so I wanted to avoid announcing it but I need the best advice I can get so I might as well come out with it. Just be gentle on the flaming...I'm a softy

Whew that is good to hear! I was expecting a "wtf are you thinking growing in that thing" kind of response. Yes he grows too but on a larger scale. Mine is purely for personal use only. He told me to start out with some lowryders for my first grow so I am going to do that. Never had that strain myself but I heard it was good and lives up to the name. Worth a shot I figure.

Your gonna wanna expand after your first grow. Never-the-less, foe FREEEEE!! I wouldn't complain a single bit. And if it sucks to bloom in, it would still be perfect for cloning.

I don't think one of those things would keep up my habit though. Let alone my bum ass friends habits.

Yeah if I need to expand after I will certainly do so. I would be a fool not to utilize this for my first grow....especially since it's free. Can't beat that price

Maybe I can get him to buy me a couple more haha. Would look like I have some sort of data center in my house.

Im sure they make big ones,he "MUST" know you will NEED the matching BIG flowering one very soon.

Im sur the same co. makes somthin which is good for flowering reg. sized plants. That lil box can veg. while the big one flowers.
