HYDROPONIC CONs:

- expensive to maintain (even self-maintaining hydroponic systems like continuous drip still need to be tested and adjusted frequently, unless you have years of experience, and they tend to be more prone to plant problems because of neglect).
- Until you have a good system and proven formula down, you have to constantly adjust nutrient solution levels to your plants' needs. LOTS OF EFFORT HERE! I'm not kidding! Not for beginners.

Im not the most experienced grower, but both methods require a good system and/or proven formula, nutrients ,and ph testing atleast every few days. Using a hydroponic system each plant is watered by the same water... so u only have to do one ph test, where if u have 50 plants in 50 pots growing in soil u would need to do 50 ph tests every few days... make sense?

So No-one posted here in a while, said i would!
Every1 argues hydro vs Soil, but which hydro method is best?
There are quite a few out there....nft,flood&drain,bb's..etc
So which one produces the best results?

Thumbs up Need choice of setup...

I have a space that is about 4.5' wide, 3' in depth and 8' tall... I was going to use the bubble bucket setup. I had soil before and had about 8 plants in the same area. What would yield me the best with the space I have?

HIGH All, welcome to The City whitie420...best thing to do is read, read and read everything you can find on Hydroponics..like some in my sig.

When you have the basics..you should have a better idea as to what you want.

Cool Depends on what you "need"

Your question should probably be more specific White420! The amount you'll spend depends on the type of system you want, the size, lighting required to cover the size of the system you select.

All the components required to have a complete hydroponics set-up (pump, light, trays, reservoir, bulb, et) varies from system design-system size.

I would recommend you figure out how much space you have to dedicate to growing, how many plants you plant on cultivating and the type of system you want to use (ebb & flow, drip, water works, nft, wick systems, et). After that you should be well on your way to finding the right system for your particular requirements.

Cheers,
HS...

Chemical Bubble expanding

I was planning on making a clone room since my plants are needing some trimming done. Does anyone know if I could use like one big tub and place 5 or so clones in doing the bubbler method? I know I would have to monitor the water more but for clones I dont think itll be too bad. Any ideas would help? I have a fill and drain system for the mothers right now.

which method is best?

BB and Ebb& Flow are probably cheapest and on the same level as aeroponics during the Veg phase. For bloom though nothing can touch Aeroponics. At least in my educated opinion.

Sorry to interrupt your "smart talk" with this stupid question, but what exactly is hydrophonics? So far from what I've gathered its pretty much putting seeds in a bucket of water, pumping air through the water, filtering the water, and harvesting before the plants get too big for the bucket.... Since I have a feeling this is wrong can someone clear it up for me?
Thanks
