Hydro Nutrient Challenge

I am going to do a Hydro Nutrient Challenge.

Here is my proposal.

I will furnish the seeds,
so we are all growing the same strain.

I crossed a stinky, fast growing,
Purple Cindy male,
with a White Widow.

I will furnish enough seeds,
so that we all get similar phenotypes.

We will all grow DWC,
since it is cheap and universal.

We will start on Jan 1 2009

It will be winter,
so temp should not be a problem.

You must use RO

You must have a good pH meter.

You should have at least one hydro grow,
preferably DWC.

We will veg for 6 weeks,
or 18 inches,
whichever occurs first.

We will try to use similar lighting,
either 400hps or 600hps
Hopefully we can all invest in new bulbs
and use the same brand.

We will all keep a grow journal on this thread,
and you must be able to include pictures.

At the end of the grow,
we will swap some budz,
for flavor and effect
comparison testing.

I will grow AN and DM nutes,
and you can use other types,
like GH, BC whatever....
or the same as me,
as a control group,
in fact, having two separate grows
with the same type of nutes
would be a very good control.

Any Test Pilots out there?

About 10 growers or so,
would be great.

If you haven't grown DWC yet,
Get started!,

Ya got about 6 months
to get that first grow
under your belt.

of your nutes & pH meter here,
and then PM me for more details.


I would prefer you use photobucket.com,

so we don't have to click on the screen,
but grow pictures of some kind are a must.

Great idea! I wish I liked DWC more, I prefer coco. I'll be doing an impromptu study using same moms, coco, autopots, 1000watter comparing GH nutes/lucas formula vs Ionic Bloom starting about Sept.

I am going to open this up,
to any type of hydro grow.
any type of light.

These rules still apply.

You must have different hydro nutes,
unless there is only one grower using your brand.

In other words, there can be two growers
using the same nutes,
but only two,
unless they have very different additives.

And I don't mean sensizym vs hygrozym,

I mean they have to use totally different additives,
or no additives at all,
to qualify as a third user
of the same nutes.

So, follow the instructions
like everyone else has done,
and remember that:

You must use RO
You must use hydro nutes
you must show your grow
and
you will be required to share your finished product.
If you cannot do this because you are paranoid,
I understand, and just ask that you do not enter this challenge.

I have changed the rules for the nutrient challenge.

Any type of hydro.
Must use hydro nutes and RO,
Any size light,
You must be able to post pictures of your WC grow,
and have a previous picture grow file on some bulletin board.

So if you haven't posted your grow file yet,
you have about 6 months
to get a hydro grow and post it
so you can show me you are serious
and not just some seed collector.

I am serious I tried to upload pics on photobucket and wouldnt work. I have a T-5 Florescent for veg. A hydrofarm 400hps for flowering . Hot house rapidrooter for germination. I use the GH (lucas) formula. I just don't have a hydro grow posted. If I can get a grow posted am I still in?

I might be down for your experiment... 600w Lumatek, AC cooled reflector and currently grow DWC.

The best nutrients for hydroponics is Botanicare Pure Blend Pro, without a doubt; easy to use, quick growth, no buildup and its 'organic'.

Yes, if........

Get that picture grow journal started.

Google "image hosting", or "photo hosting",
and you will find other sites that may be faster.

I know my friend uses imageshack
because she says photobucket is too slow,
she has a pc.

I have a mac so no problems,
as long as I don't try to load more than once a day.

The first time I load it goes pretty fast,
but since I am not a paid subscriber,
my second attempt within 24 hours,
can be very slow.

I try to load all the pix
just once a day,
and it goes fast
even if I load 10 pix at once.

I like the way the pix look in the BB or IMG files,
and the management of many pix is easy with PB.

I can teach you how to use PB
but you're own your own
with another site.

Just look for the BB code
or the IMG code
so you can copy and paste it into the post.

Grass city can host your pix also.

Click on "Photo Gallery" in the tool bar above.

Then follow directions to host your pix.

They used to have an IMG or BBcode
under the pix
you could paste it into your post,
but I don't know if that code is there anymore.
