Car headlights for Plants?

certain bulbs have certain brightnesses when you turn your high beam on in your car its probly one bulb or another high beam bulb those are prolly low beams cuz i got 150 watt high beams in my car which are 8000K super blue headlights duh its a cadillac but whatever ive used them before they work great and dont really get hot they are tiny bulbs. I took an old headlight from a car with two holes and used them as reflectors so i had the beam pointing at the plant and worked great people were all dissing the idea so i stopped posting

h4 lights are halogen headlights man get xenon bulbs theyre brighter more lumens

Arent car h.i.d lights xenon, which doesn't produce a spectrum(s) of light that is suitable for growing?

I done think halogen is much better either, if you want to do it cheap you can just buy cfl's and use old lamps or whatever you have to light them up in the box.

I don't think low wattage HID's are that expensive either like the 150w~ outdoor lights, the reflectors/lenses aren't really the best for efficient light useage and they prob get pretty hot in an enclosed space but should be cheap and easy.

I had decent luch making about a 2'x4' board with 8 sockets attached to it with 6x 42w warm spectrum cfls and 2x 36w cool spec' cfls.

plants died but think that was from other mistakes I made, have since upgraded to dual 400w (1x400wMH[magnetic ballast] and 1x430w growlux HPS w/ lumitek ballast) for a 2'x4'x7' box

and I believe the car bulbs (not sure about H4) have 3 prongs, a common and one each for high and low beams if you use the shares contact as ground(-) and run pos(+) to the other two at the same time it will light both. this will produce more heat and decreace the life of the bulb (may even cause the bulb to burn out or explode if it is of lower quality or insufficient cooling) but will get more light.

how did you rig up the light bulbs? did you do something that let you just plug them into a regular socket?

I ask because that would be fucking awesome to have a grow with headlights! so much cheaper than buying big lighting and ventilation systems.
