well is anyone familiar with the hanna combo pen

it's just the basic black combo tri meter, the disolved solids is measured by "ms" i have no idea what this stands for and i've been real worried about this being too high, it has been at 2100-2400 and i have a few lock out issues.... can this be the cause.

also does any one know how i can learn about the conversion between ec and ppm on these hanna combo meters. the meter measures ph, ms, and ppm.

i just wanna be as acurate as possible

thanks a lot everyone.

I have a Hanna real time meter for PPM and PH,a gro-check combo meter.

Never even herd of ms,the only other "3rd" reading i have seen is Temp. which my Blue Lab does have as well.

I dont know your Hannas model# or if they use both conversions on dif. meters but i do know my Hanna IS x700 and will show over 2000 when my BL (x500) shows 1400-1600 on the same solution at the same time.

Hope this helps bro.

Excellent post ocitown... I'd just like to add in case it hasn't already been pointed out Advanced Nutrients recommend that you don't serve up more than 2.0ec... which converts to 1000ppm (x5 conversion) or 1400ppm (x7 conversion). Or even a CF of 20.

In the US the most often used conversion is the 'x7' ppm scale.
