forcing early flower outdoors

My first grow was summer 07 so I'm not experienced by any means. I was curious to know if it would be possible to force an early flower around mid-late July. I was wondering if you could put a large cardboard box or something of that sort over plants that are tied down. I was thinking you could cover them every night when it's dark and take it off a few hours after sunrise to simulate the 12 12 lighting in a way. My friend and I are growing out in a secure spot near his house and would be willing to do it everyday. I doubt this would work but I just wanted to hear everyone's opinion about it or any other possible way to force an early flower.

thanks for your advice

doubt it haha just a thought

It's just that I'm leaving for school August 16 so I guess we'll just visit them every week and take turns coming back to check on them and take care of them. As long as we're not in a drought like we were last summer in my area I think the plants would be fine on their own once they start flowering. I mean after all they're only a plant. Nature should take care of it for the most part.
