nutrient solution question

i would like to make my own nutrient solution to use in a homemade ebb and flow system. can i use alaska fish fertilizer 5-1-1 as a stand alone solution, and if so,in what amount? it says to use 2 tsp. per quart for a large indoor plant but i assume that is in soil. i am trying to get around buying an expensive solution thru a store or online. any help would be awe inspiring.

you won't save any money making your own. you'll probably end up causing more frustration to yourself and you'll just end up wishing you would have just bought nutes.

fertilizer is not adequate to feed your plants, they need nutrients. it'd be like if you had a kid and you only fed them vitamins with out ever feeding them any actual food.
