Where are you Mike?
I go to my hydro store. It's $20/gl See if you can google a hydro store in your town. Your local drug store, or a hair dresser, might order it for you, by the gl, for "cleaning". If they really want to know, you need to clean your aquarium, and the pebbles, and ceramic castles, etc... bleach is too toxic for fish. |

If you filled your rez full of 3% h2o2 and nothing else, it would barely be able to combat your root rot problem. I think 3% works out to $35/gl. Do the math with the price you can get it for.
The hydroguard is not an answer to pythium. If you really have root rot, the only way to attack it is with 5% h2o2, and that means you shoud use 35% h2o2 at 15ml/gl. You are going to have a hard time contolling the pH while you have root rot. Watch for wild pH swings. This will lockout the nutes in your solution. ![]() Hair dressers use h2o2 for doing their thing, maybe you could get some from one of them, or your girlfriend knows where to get some. The stuff they use may have other chemicals in it, I really don't know. It would be worth it to make a few phone calls to local pharmacy and see if they carry the 35%. It is $24/gl at my hydro store. Otherwise you will probably save time by starting over and keeping the rez temp below 68ºf. A lot easier to do this time of year. If you mess around with this and it fails, you will be in summer again during your next try, and facing more heat problems. Keep the nute solution around 75% or less. The more nutes you have in your solution, the less oxygen it can carry. Always start of with 25% and work the nutes stronger, up to 75%. If you are not using RO water, then you should never go over 50% nute strength. ![]() The reason you have root rot is because you have low oxygen content in your solution. Cold water can absorb more oxygen. 65-68ºf is optimal temp for your solution. Add lots of airstones. Put a small aquarium powerhead in the bottom of the rez to keep the solution moving all the time. ![]() These are $18 at walmart. Also, while your at wally world, get an aquarium thermometer to keep track of your rez temp. |

true that. you need to get FOOD GRADE H202. adv. nute. sells stuff called HYoxy for like 14 bux. 35% h202. that you must dilute..
and homie was right. 3% wont do anything. its not nearly strong enough

Not to be a prick but, I am a hazmat technician and finding 35% is going to be very hard to find. I believe store bought solutions are 10% and private commercial is 35% and then private/research/industrial strenght is 99% and next to impossible to come by.
And to just to classify, H202 is a Oxidizing agent "Oxidizer" Something that re-acts, also can be corrosive. HydroChlorAcid basicly is in our bodies and is extremely corrosive. |
