First time trying LST! Help me please.

I have a stealth growbox that is 13in wide x 18in deep x 33in tall. Im gonna run 2 60watt flouros because of the small space. Im just looking for anyones input on LSTing in this small space. Is it possible? (I'm only growing the one plant.) Im just wondering if the plant will get light in all the places it needs to if I LST in this small box. If anyone has any suggestions on better ways to increase yield in this small box please share it with me.

This would prolly be the best situation to LST' in... its meant to keep the plant short and bushy but also obtain optimal yields... Also i would research it a lil more check i belive dierwoods?* post on LST. he has a great tutorial. but i think u shuold be alright... this process allows more light to be reached to the bud sites, so the worry about gettin light isnt really a big deal. good luck

this is what i really want to know

Can you remove fan leaves to make more room? Im planning on really LSTing the
fck out of this plant. I want LOTS of colas. I want to spiral out and slightly up with the tiedowns. I have a small box. 13in wide x 18in deep x 33in tall. I really need to optimize this space. Ive read most of the LST threads but Im not really seeing many pictures to really tell how many you can cut off and how you do it without damaging your plant.

as far as LST, it's really easy once you get started. i wouldnt really cut too many leaves off of the plant at any stage but towards the end. i read a lot about it stressing the plant, as well as cutting off it's means of energy. fan leaves absorb the most light and create the most energy for efficient photosynthesis. if they are gone then your plant is missing a very big part of the growing process.

as far as the cabinet, i grew in a small cabinet also, and am doing another one now. the first grow (closet grow status link in my signature) is a one plant grow that started as a lst, then i gave it up and jsut grew the one plant straight up in the cabinet, similar dimesions to yours. click the link in my sig.

also, i am doing another grow currently, also in the signature (future scrog). it has the same cabinet, and is also for one plant, but i used a variation of LST and topping to create a bush rather than a tree. it will eventually be a scrog grow. check out those links, i think they could help you a lot, while answer a lot of new-grower-questions (assuming this is your first)...good luck!

Lst

My first time growing outdoors this year i used LST. By bending down the main stock of the plant i easily gained more than double what i would have gotten for yield. Bend over plant so its all the way horizontal, but be sure so not snap the main stem, and veg out untill you have desired results. DO NOT PRUNE UNTILL YOU ARE SATISFIED WITH LST RESULTS! The fan leaves will help it grow faster and are the biggest provider to buds outcome. I would leave most of the fan leaves, only take off the ones that are extra, for instance, if you have a fan leave thats covered by others and is getting virtually no light, either snip it, or the one thats blocking it, depending on which looks healthiest. Take the most unhealthy one. I pruned also so it looks more like a verticle hedge, and not a bush. So there was plenty of fan leaves around each top branch, but not so many in between each top branch if that makes sense. Do not top or fim your plant, its not worth it for your setup and is only good i think for outdoors.
