root help

hey yall, i have an ebb and flow flood table set up, i grow in 6 inch net pots and my roots are growing out of the pots and into the nute solution, and the light is hitting them. they bare still nice and white and healthy looking. will the roots being exposed to light hurt them, will it effect the plant, what can i do? peace

Use a medium in your ebb&flow. Ebb/flow is actually meant to be used with medium. Rockwool+aquarium gravel+some sand is probably what you'd need, since drainage is important in ebb/flow. You don't want something that will hold too much water for any period of time.

While light probably won't hurt the roots, it will fuck with their growth and may cause reduced root growth.

thanks, sands a little to messy for my grow set up, but maybe ill try some aquarium gravel along with some hydroconton or what ever that stuff is called. peace
