Lucas formula?
I've seen several references to this mystical Lucas Formula, apparently referring to a nute formula for hydro. I've tried searching for it, but all I'm finding is more referrences lol.
Can anyone provide a link or some more info? Thanks. |

I'm so glad to hear that a new grower is going to be using this formula! I wish I had heard about it before and not wasted so much money on Advanced Nutrients when I don't know how to use them right!
PLUS not having to change the reservoir is music to my ears considering the amount of work changing the reservoir can be with lots of suppliments. The Ph stays stable too... It's just the best formula for hydro I've heard of considering the work and cost involved and the results are amazing. It really makes my day seeing this knowledge get out there. ![]()

Thanks Rumple. I really appreciate you digging this up for me =). I found another couple of Lucas articles that were pretty fascinating - especially the one about how to design your grow area by working backwards from the amount of bud you want/need. But this is exactly what I was looking for.
My hydro unit is only in it's first week of growing and I did NOT start it out with this formula. I simply went with the guidelines that GH provided with the unit - and went half strength at that so as not to burn (only 300ppm to start). Think I should drain the res and start over? Or should I just add in nutes per this formula and let the ratios balance out over time as I bring the ppm up to full strength? |

What I meant to say was that I did try to Google this question and MY attempts to use Google to find the information were not successful. I don't know if maybe I misspelled something or maybe I just didn't know enough about what I was looking for to spot the correct entry. I appreciate you posting the info so quickly for me, and I apologize if it seem that I said your link wasn't what I was looking for. |
