clipping leaf typs myth

is it true that if you were to clip off the 1/4 inch leaf tips that the plant would be come difficult to recognize as marijuana, and would just ooze with resin?it makes sense, the plant thinks it is being attacked or eaten so it secretes resin to protect itself.it is in several grow guides on the web and i was wondering if anyone has tried this.

Nonsense.......
Just get good seeds .....or clones...grow them to the best of your ability......there is no "Magical resin oozing hash lump with roots".....if there were we would all have one or two

i have been experimenin with this on one plant but it will be hard to judge if it had a positive effect on the plant because i dont have a control. but so far no oozing of trichomes forming on the wounds as i was lead to belive would happen. but it does not seem to hurt the plant. i think your right about it being just a myth.

Leaves dont produce much resin or THC in the first place. Ive heard of people pinching the tops of their buds and getting super potent mutant colas, but clipping parts of your leaves off will just stress the plant and stunt its growth.
