so i was wondering if i set up a hydro grow would i get away with only checking on them once a week as i am thinking of setting up a grow elsewhere and would only be able to get out there on weekends although i will be able to spend at least two consecutive days a week with them doing whatever needs to be done

I don't think thats possible. First, if this is your first try with hydro you may not even keep the plants alive and if you do, you have to constantly watch the Ph because it changes faster than soil grows. Other things like water temp and system malfunctions (clogged hoses, leaks, etc) will kill your plants in a day if you dont check them often. I think if you are starting with hydro or aeroponics you have to check it at least once a day.

that was kinda what i figured so do you think a soil grow with nutrients and water on timers to water would work?

Set up an Ebb and Flow table .....set the drain tubes at 1" use only PHed water during the week.
Use 1 gal. pots and this set-up works very well
Add your Nute water from the top the first day of your visits ......Good Luck

the plants will get enough with only 1 feeding a week? will the one time feeding then drain into the water meaning i should change water every week before the feed so ph and everything stays good? since its only one feeding instead of the constant feeding that i think is normal with the ebb+flow how much nutrients should i use. sorry so many questions only had one soil grow even though it was a continous grow over a year long with 8 harvests. Dr. i also have a cfl cabnit going like yours only its a scrog on smaller scall

Yup' they will be just fine....the guy I know that did this used Schultz Pro. Bloom Builder 10 - 52 - 10 1Tsp + 3 tsp fish Emultion per gallon

Run the same water all weekend change it B4 ya' leave

the mix I described above will work fine....water the first time every weekend from the top to the point of run off
