I'll be sure to post the pictures of the new mini-river system that my bonsai plants are going to live in as soon as it's built, I have to re-veg plants now...

Yes, that's my busted-ass skate shoe in the picture... LOL

Would have worked fine if I had used net pots instead of the disks... I didn't know you aren't supposed to have the stem in the water. They all died within a couple weeks from the mistake, and all of them were special plants to me... Really sucked.

Hey Brother MGS...question for you...In order to properly bonsai you have to limit the root growth...how are you doing that with hydro??? I would think having your mums in soil would be way less hassle and way less space bro...

I know you hydro freaks want to stay comitted to it, but Bonsai is a soil sport IMO...or at least easier in soil!

Oh, and I love the busted ass shoe...just goes to show that your skills could potentially compete with mine...or what used to be anyhow. I remember the best present my Grandma ever got me was a phat ass 4' quarter pipe...it even had the PVC lip and was built by some skateboard shop for like $100.00. That same ramp today would probably run hundreds...but we're talking 80's...LOL...damn, I'm getting old.

4. Veg a little longer till branches are growing their 3rd node...Fimm branches
5. Veg a little longer
6. Cut clones from branches with cool "fimm job"...not rim job..."fimm job"
7. Flower Plant and root clones
8. Pull male plants and kill male clones
9. Take coolest looking clone from female plant and LST the heck out of it and there's your Bonsai Mum. Take it straight from rooted clone to permanent home in no more than 5" pot.

The biggest thing about your bonsai...Don't be afraid to give it a hair cut!!! if it gets too tall, LST it or cut the top off...this will promote more bushiness anyways.

My plant will show you that MJ can take a lickin' and keep tickin...so have fun...and for goodness sake...Take it easy on the ferts!!!! Bonsai Mums only have a small amount of soil and therefore only need small amount of ferts when watering.
i actually just harvested my one and only female from seed, and i am trying to re veg her to see if she can become a candidate for cloning, and if all works out well and good, ill be able to clone her asap and start my bonsai adventure. as well as starting a ncie lconing area and flowering box heh. ireally am not planning on growing alot but its nice to know that if i wanna grow i will have a female to clone from, so hopefully she pulls threw all of her chopping like yours did, mine just inst no master kush heh.

Roots are really easy to control in hydro,
You just take a pair of scissors and cut them.

I cut a huge wad of roots
that were growing where I didn't want them,
on the plant in the pic above.
She doesn't mind.

This plant will reveg beautifully. It'll take a month to get back to vegetative cycle, but it'll be worth it. Just give it time...that's all we've got anyhow...and if it's the only source for the strain...patience is your best friend.

My cove stays really cool...like low 70's, so maybe that's why it's thriving. I also tripled my lights in that space so the clones should be fuller and not so stretched next time.

Looking good brother! What's stains do you have in bonsai?

I just braided my three branches together and it looks sweet as hell. I'll snap some photos tomorrow to show the close ups.

Anyone else have Bonsai's to show?

As you'll see from the Cove Pics, I love you all so much, I moved all my stuff around just to get some snapshots for all of you...the pictures pretty much speak for themselves, but if you are blind, there are a few of the now braided branches and then some of the other branches getting bent backwards and then under the main stalk. It's going to be sweet....stay tuned....
