Can someone please tell me about the technique to cut 80% of first bud to increase bud size (sort of like tipping the actual flower)? I read about this but can't seemed to find the thread...Thanks!

It's like fimming, but instead of cutting the stem, you cut the actual bud. Obviously this would have to be done well into flowering.

I seen someone's journal on here about 4-5 months ago that used this technique. Try a search on topping during flower. Remember that some strains will benefet from this, others will not.
