Cloning Success Stories?

What is the percentage of clones that will produce if you do it right? in other words, if I follow the direction on this forum to the T...out of 10, how many can I expect to come through typically?

if you make every cut perfect and you have a good medium and a humidity dome
it depends on alot of things i guess, especialy experience ive only cloned once and both of my cuttings made it. if its your first try i dunno if id go for 10, see if u can root 2-3 at the same time, when u feel like youve got it down go for 10.

10 out of 10
I have taken 100's of 1000's of clones 350-400 per week for years ........
Use wool cubes, Perlite,Per/Vermiculite....it will up your survival rate....soil works well but don't start with it at first.

Cut each one twice....once with scissors (wiped with alcohol)and again at an angle with a razor.( also wiped)

Dip in rooting powder....and then put it in ... your chosen medium
Then maintain 100% humidity (open up and blow on then once a day) DO NOT MIST THEM!!!! When they start to yellow a bit... start allowing in air a lil' at a time....until you are leaving the lid off them all day then give them about a week .....then pot them up

I've never been able to get 100% success if I take a cutting before it's rooted. Here's how I get 100%, I've taken up to 12" tall cuttings this way. Instead of cutting it off right away, just scrape off the outer layer of the stem, wipe some cloning gel or put some cloning powder on it and put a rockwool starter cube on it, cover it in foil so the roots don't get light, water the cube every other day and in just over a week the clone will be rooted, now cut it off the plant and replant wherever. They seem to grow faster this way, because they are still being fed by the mother plant while they develop some roots, and they just keep growing once cut off since they already have roots.

I had 7 out of 7 live recently. I only used Jiffy Peat Pellets. Cut at a 45 angle below t nodes which i removed with a razor blade. I used no rooting hormone but did however cover it with a dome and mist over a week and a half.

thats a good ass idea man, i'm gonna try it. and if i get it to work as well as u, i could just have say...4-6 mothers all of my different favorite strains. then keep them in veg permanetly till i can take 2-3 8in cuttings from each plant, then move those cuttings into the flower box. and start 12/12 from beginning.. if they already are 8in with roots, it would be perfect. then about 1 week or 2 before harvest, the mothers should have grown some new 8in branches to chop off and clone. restart the whole process..

check out my grow journal: the Dope Ass ICE CREAM Scrog also shows pics of my 1 plant blueberry scrog

Doing it that way I didn't need a humidity dome or anything, I just put them in a small ebb n flow tray with a 400w mh on them until the roots came out the bottom of the net pots, then put them into 5gal bubble buckets. Most of the cuttings I took were small, about 4-6" tall, but I took one that was 13" tall with 6-7 sets of leaves on it just to see what would happen. It didn't wilt at all, and it actually developed roots faster than the smaller cuttings.

I have always had 100% results using my ice pop cloner LOL.. It's just a cheap dollar store ice pop tray.. I put a few holes on the bottom of each ice pop holder, put in perilite, add the cuts, and sit the ice pop tray in a larger container of water. If your in a low humidity area just mist the leaves once a day or so, or put a dome over them... but for my location that's not even needed, they just root, and get enough humidity from the water evaporating from the lower tray....

The plants use water as they need, and plants root within 7-10 days on average.. Pretty much idiot proof... just make sure you keep water in the lower container so they dont dry out..

I cut this tray in half, but usually they have 6-8 slots for clones.

Ater making my ice pop cloner I made the water bottle cube maker which holds more. Can buy these at wal-mart and with a lil mod you have urself a pretty sweet cloner

I trimmed the blue cover so it will fit inside of another plastic bin perfectly, and also placed two holes in the cap of each tube

Basically add your medium of choice. add water to the outer container, and slide the cube maker in so it sits in the water.

Postman Clones.

Thanks for the feedback Postman...I think I'll try that next time. These peat pellets are attracting gnats. Also, it appears my organic soil had gnats in it too...what do you do to alleviate gnats?

To be honest I havn't a problem with gnats yet indoors... I buy the soil, mix it up, and always keep it indoors in closed rubbermad bins til I use it. I open the tubs once a week for a few hours or so, stir, and rewet if to dry... Let the soil dry out pretty good before rewetting as this will kill some of the larva. they thrive in wet sitting soil that doesn't dry out enough......

as for killing or stopping an existing problem they sell many different products that will kill the larva and break the breeding cycle...

If you get your conditions right, you should be able to get 100% of clones to strike every time.

This is how I do it. Perhaps there's something useful in my method & setup for others.

They didn't make it!!!

Well, I guess once my mother plant recovers some, I'll be able to pull some clones again...but these babies are toast. Been 2 weeks, not growth. Stalks are hard and leaves are soft, but no new growth as of yet.

Am I being too patient or are these babies toast?

From what I can tell...if they are struggling at this age...why keep them. Also...probably got fert burned...if you read my grow, you'll knwo what I mean.
