tap water vs. treated

the tap water where i live is very "hard" it has a funky pH and tons of other chemicals in it. Now, whenever im in the grocery store, next to all the poland spring and other natural spring water is the discount publix brand (or shoprite brand watever) what caught my eye was that it didnt say "mountain" or "spring" anywhere. upon closer inspection of the label it informs me that it is basically sea water desalinized and cleaned through reverse osmosis. would this be a good hydroponic water, or is distilled tap still the best way to go? (and i dont think distilling water removes the flouride and shit, correct me if im wrong.)

Distillation should remove fluoride, but that water does seem like it should work. You should check the pH on the RO water though, it might still be messed up. If not, then that should work fine.

thanks for the reply, ill check it out with a pH and EC meter and let you all know what i find out.
