I tried it with some dried out mids, and it actually worked. It's not that it looks any worse (if anything, it looks like there's more THC on it), it's that it's a lot lighter, and doesn't taste like anything. I kept mine under for 7 days, dried them out over a radiator, and while they got me wicked baked, it didn't retain any of its distinctive taste. Instead, smoking out of a bowl was like smoking out of a vapo with a hint of cellulose.

Filtered through water, it's pretty pleasant. I put an orange's worth of zest at the bottom of a mason jar, and put some screen over it, placed the mostly-dry bud on the screen, and put it back on the radiator. An experiment in flavor

whatever happened to this? so can you just clip the main branches off,manicure, water cure, then dry? would this be a good way to cure ALOT of bud or is it more for just like an oz. Also is there any other ways to cure the bud stealthly, like a curebox or something i dont have the ability just to let it dry in the house.

Apparently if you water cure for 3 days and then dry you keep the taste.

Will be trying a water cure next harvest.

would be interesting to try a few different days maybe even different temps... but yeah im gonna try this but not not use a radiator or food dehydrator at ll that just seems....dumb

I'm definantly gonna try this with some of my harvest ill leave the rest for the traditional tried and true method.

Sorry for never updating this thread... as a stoner I just forgot. It worked out well but the stink was BAD at first... like HORRIBLE. Had to let them air dry with fans for another day after dehydrating them. It did take care of the chems they were loaded with and nasty mold I ended up finding. Will be water curing again in about 4 weeks so I will update this thread with more pictures... wow I feel like a tool :-)

so please explain? the plants molded when you water cured them? what stink?

the mass <i>did</i> change. just not the amount of non-water-soluble chemicals [thc].

No the water-cure was to help the fact that the buds got moldy. I let my first batch of plants flower for a long time and trimmed them so just one major cola. The problem was the humidity stayed too high and web-like mold developed inside the buds. I water-cured non-moldy buds seperately.

The plants give off a nasty stink after being pulled from the water and air dryed. It's a very plant-like odor.

I have tried the water cure and personally I belive it is a way to get some smoke in a hurry
for someone who has nothing to smoke
while he is waiting for the real cure.

I would never use the water cure for normal curing.
It really takes all the flavor out of the buds.

For the best cure you should:

•Trim the buds and leaf,
•hang the plant for 4-5 days,
•remove the buds,
and place loosely in paper a sack
with the closed top rolled down,
•Check and air the buds daily in the sack for one week.
•Now the last phase should include a month in glass jars.
Opening and checking the jars daily for moisture content,
until the budz are dry and the stems snap.

A minium 6 week cure will make for better high and better smoke.
( you will wish you hadn't smoked all that uncured bud,
when you finally find out how good your buds really are
after 6-8 weeks cure.)

Buds should reach maximum cure at 4 months.
The glass jars will seal in the flavor,
and when you open the jar,
the bouquet is fabulous.

So basically water cure vs. dry cure is equivalent to vaporizing bud vs. smoking.

Christ on a pop sickle stick! I cut down my first harvest friday night. Fixed up the dry-room and started the next batch under light. I thought I might have some smoke in a couple of weeks....
