Hey how loud is your setup? I have the same size pump and I am thinking about going to the store today to get everything I need but ?i fear this pump is way too big and will make unnecissary nosie, I have to keep things stealthy. Thanks.

couldnt hear the pump at all. remember its in gallons of water that definitely absorb the sound it makes. the loudest noise from your grow will be your fans and that can get pretty loud.

Hmm okay well I have a Ten gallon (i think not sure Ill get it outa my car later today) rubbermaid container a 10-30 gallon (very quiet) air pump, only one output though into an airstone strip. 396 gph (which I think is overdoing it and causing unnecissary noise) pump.

Basicly it will be very close to the setup you have, I dont have net pots or rockwool yet though.

So you say when the pump is in the water it is a lot quieter? I plan on using small computer fans, those will be louder than the pump when its running? If so then I wont go buy a smaller pump : )

your pump should be perfect. if you have a smaller pump you will not build enough pressure and not achieve a good mist from your sprayers. trust me that pump will be silent once in the water.

peace

First time aeroponics grow this is my first grow and i am using aeroponics. Sorry bout the underscores my space bar doesn’t work. It is basically a cab set up in a small closet in my room. I built the door to seal the door and housed the inlet fan in the bottom of it. The outlet fan is built in to the top of the cab and the whole thing is covered with mylar. The light I am using is a sunlight systems T5 w/ 4-2' bulbs. The tubs are rubber maid that I cut to work together. my pump is rated at 396 gph and is feeding 9 180degree misters the air pump a Million Air 400 w/ two outlets each going to a stone. The interior f an is hung with hemp slip-knots so it’s fully adjustable. I have plans to SCR OG so I still need to build a device for this. Since I don’t have clones yet I have been doing some dry runs on the system to see how it works. So far temps have been between 68-75F with on and off light cycles. The water seems to a ct as a heat sink which keeps the cab warm while the light is off. And there doesn’t seem to be any problems with the pump or misters. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and questions answered as promptly as possible. Peace

i have not had any huge problems with my pH except for the normal drop at the start of flowering. other than that it has not been a problem. my issue has been nute burn and am planning on getting a ppm meter for future grows. probably gonna get a temp/pH/ppm meter that reads constantly so i will know everything i need.

no worries Ultra this is why this thread is here so i can learn and others can too. i definitely worried about the misters clogging when i first built the manifold and i too thought of making another to swap out if needed. but so far no problems, no clogging. also it would be bout impossible to change out on my system especially once all those roots grow all over. one thing i would change on my misting box would be to put a screen on the drain hole so roots wont grow into the reservoir. those blue air stones are shit. they do break down and mine broke right where the hose connects so it was just spitting big bubbles. the disks work better but mine seems to want to flip upside down when the air is on so i jammed it between the water pump and wall of the res. i replaced the blue stone with a wood one which works great but it floats so you need to weigh it down. as for the hydrotons, dont think i washed them they should be fine new or re-used. unless you had some bad shit growing in your water then they should be washed. simple green works great since its non-toxic and bio-degradable.

definitely keep the questions coming. glad to see someone doing something similar to me. always nice to bounce ideas off someone and my friends get sick of it too hahaha.
hopefully ill remember to take some pics tonite. its looking good, pretty much just a bunch of little buds. bout three more weeks till cut time.

-peace

I have a greenhouse on my home, when flowers are starting to bloom, I can't control the mist from the old reliable misters I built. The flowers started to wilt sooner than expected, maybe due to strong flow of the mist.

Yeah, I am also discourage by the price of the misting systems in the market, but can't rely on having my misting system from Home depot. It would cost me too much, buying everytime, because it is not a heavy duty one. I have read one article here: Misting Systems | Mist Systems | Outdoor Misting, I guess I would try one from this.
