HOWEVER I'm sure your familiar with LSTing, in your opinion if you had a high yield vertically inclined strain, is there any limit to the horizontal veg training prior to flowering cycle. ( as in 8 square ft of horizontal )

Same here,although im using an easy home made hydro set up out of PVC.
The 42watt CFLs seem to be makin buds nicely and I'm only in week 2-3.

Wish i could link the set up for the DR. to criticize but if you search "PVC" you can find the 2 liter set up inspired by the DR. himself.

Green, you are possibly one of my heroes. It's awesome how you are so self-sufficient and that you live in the wilderness. I think the fact that you pretty much live on a farm and grow ganja kicks ass. You seem like the kind of person that people could easily make fun of unless they really got to know you. You really know your shit. +rep

Also, i've got 8 plants going, they are flowering right now so I can weed out the males, so far 2 males and one possible hermie. Should I wait a bit to make sure all of them are females before re-vegging them and taking clones for flowering? I don't really want to kill the mothers because i've got a shortage of seeds, even if they are bagseed. When I do take clones, do I need that rooting gel/powder/liquid shit, or can I do it with soil or water with nutrients in it? Thanks!

Doc i started a grow and failed all my plants died after 1.5-2 weeks, first i had PH issues but then i fixed that, at least i think i did. but any way i want to start up again, my question is how much light do i need for 16 babys, i was using LEDs now im going to get CFLs for Veg and i was going to use both for Flower. i am starting out with bag seed, good bag seed though, this is why i am veging 16, i only plan to flower 6-8. im growing in a desk cabinet that is 4' tall by 15" wide and 19" deep. i planed on veging to 12"-14" and them flower, would you recamend usng CFL all the way to Flower or just until they get to a cirtain height before i switch to the LEDs. I know you have no exp. with LEDs but for this instance you could just imagine that its a HPS maby.

Oh Dr. I also was going to ask you what you use to start seedlings in, bacally the Soil Mix you use. i had them in peatmoss and vermiculite, i couldnt find any perlite. Also some one told me i needed something organic in there to provide micro nutes i think, what should i get for that, just potting soil or should i go in my back yard and get some dirt, also could that have killed them, having them in only Peatmoss and vermiculite. I want to know why they died so it doesn't happen again.

DrBudGreengenes I just finished reading all 22 pages of this kick ass post. I was just wondering what lights you stuck with in the budding box? In the beginning of the post you put 3x 42w warm white and 2x 23w Florex Full spectrum CFL's in the bud box, then 3/4 the way through the post you said put 5x 42w CFL's in the box. Im just a little confused. Im trying to get it right the first time. Thx

There are several auto feed systems sold commercially but i have been warned not to get too close to them as they have more problems than the human element and how hard is it to feed/fill once a week anyways.
