RockWool germination

Ok i have started the germination of 8 plants inside A rockwool. They are slowly starting to pop up but how long can i keep them in here until the roots reach the bottom? My grow is a Hydroponic grow and i have a pot that has holes in it how long should i wait to move it to that with the rocks? or should i just keep the plant in the Rock wool and then put the rock wool inside the other pot and then wwait for the roots to pop out the bottom?

wait for roots to pop out of the bottom, then u can put the whole rockwool cube into ur net pots ready for ur system....

if u have any stones, put them in the net underneath the cube!

happy growing!

Im trying a different way right now but it should work the same for rockwool too. My seeds are started in Super Starter plugs and after only a couple days of sprouting I put the plugs in the net pots and hydroton and then put them back under the CFLs in a Rubbermaid box with a tiny bit of water on the bottom to keep it humid. Either way the roots should still grow the same and the plant is acclimated to the hydroton and net pot very early and once the roots are visible in the hydroton, I will put on the neoprene covers and just plunk them straight into the system for their nute bath.

Way...way to much work, I germinate seeds in paper towel. Plop into rockwool cube, put into net pot with hydroton rocks surrounding rockwool and put them directly into the bubbler. End of story. My last grow, 20+oz with three plants. Here is a link so you can see they grew just fine.

The rockwool IS the cubes. You put the seed in the rockwool cube itself. The paper towel method works great for me too. Once I have a good sized taproot coming out I just stick them into the super starter plugs. It works the same for rockwool. I use the super starters because you dont have to pre-treat them with 5.5pH water. They are more expensive though...

Do yourself a favor get a tds/ppm meter and don't rely on the mfg's recommended feed schedule.
