best hydroponic systems?

looking to get into some hydroponic growing, don't have a whole room to devote to it but plenty of space, wondering what you guys thought would be the best systems to use, buy online or build it myself, your 2 cents would be great.

well can't say I have much history on the subject but I'm beginning a grow for the first time with DWC method using bubblebuckets. It's a pretty decent, understandable, method of hydroponics.

first grow?
