Hydro Water Temps

after reading a ton about Hydro (specifically DWC bubble buckets) it's something i realy want to try.
My only concern is what the water temp in my room will be. I'm guessing it may run as high as 85 degrees F or higher at times, assuming light temps, and the bucket being black.
Is 85 degrees gonna give me problems?
Should i just stick with soil until i get better cooling in my room?

rez temps. are "always" an issue. i suggest you invest in a chiller.

bubbler temp will be the same as the ambient temp in the growspace.
U need to keep that below 30c
Say u maintain a cab temp of 25c - ur solution temp will also be 25c which is fine as long as u have blacked out the buckets & are using opaque tubing for ur airlines.

your soil will also be the same temp as the ambient temp of ur growspace, so u won't notice any difference when u switch to bubblers

I just figured that with a 400W light 12" away from a black bucket that the temp might go a little crazy.

u could always mylar ur bucket - reflect back the heat & light

but a 400w hid bulb will have to be at least 18" away from the plant top unless u invest in a cooltube

yeah i have a cool tube with exhaust running out.. and mylar on the bucket sounds like a good idea.
Maybe i'll give a single bucket a go with a bagseed to test it out. Thanks for the help.

i have a 400 watt hps and a 10 gallon bubbler bucket... i live in somwhere very warm. i use room temp water and have never ever had a problem and im about so have some very successful white widow.. maybe change the blck bucket though.

hows the temp in your grow space? Mine ranges in the mid 80's F for the most part.

Yesterday temps in my cab were 45C, theyre pulling along quite nicely but i need a/c.

BTW it was only about 30 degrees outside...

Even if you're not causing harm to your roots with such warm water, I can say unequivocally that water at 70 degrees F will have far more oxygen than water at 85F. Oxygen is crucial for fast growth. For that reason alone, a chiller is an excellent investment...as mentioned previously.

P.S. the only chillers i saw were in the $500-$600 range. imo for that kinda cash, i'd rather get a Co2 system and go soil i think.
