I've read that the way to add flavor and aroma to your smoke is to put a small container of whatever you want (vanilla, cherry, etc) in a sealed container with your dried pot. Just be careful that your pot doesn't actually come in direct contact with the flavoring. I haven't tried it, but it makes sense. Couldn't hurt much I wouldn't think.
