theVirtuoso's First Grow - Ak-47 x Blueberry (auto) - Aerogarden [Vids + Pics often]

Alright, folks... this won't be an everyday thing, but I wanted to keep a little journal of my baby as she gets older... I'm about 20 days in right now and everything is going great.

This is done in a closet setup for a no-hassle can't-fuck-it-up grow. I just wanted to make this as easy as possible while still being able to go the hydroponics route.

- Advanced Nutrients Micro/Grow/Bloom Nutrisystem
- General Hydroponics pH Up/Down
- Air Stone / Air Pump
- Extra 2700k CFL Light
- Aerogarden Pro 200

I'm currently using 24/7 lighting as I don't have the proper cable to plug into the lights in the aerogarden to setup a timer for 20/4, but the plant seems to be doing fine anyways. It showed sex at around day 16. I keep the pH around 5.5-5.7 and change the reservoir once a week (also change the nutrients with the reservoir).

I know I could have made my own hydroponic setup for less probably and definitely have gotten a larger yield, but that's not what I'm trying to do here... so I'd rather keep those comments off this thread.

I'll start off with a small video just showing the very barebone setup I'm using to make this work for me... (sorry if the sound is loud, it was recorded with a cell phone).

thanks, man. everythings going great so far

looks like it's only going to get better... definitely a very short and bushy plant on the way. I doubt this one will even reach 2ft, probably about 1 1/2.

Thanks, man! Here's a small update...

I'm closing in on the end of the plant's first month... can't believe how time has flown by.

Here's how she's looking now... obviously going to be a short and bushy plant, even though the ak-47 genetics are there, they're more just in the high's characteristics...

the plant has apparently taken all the growing characteristics from the blueberry, but remember these are both auto strains, meaning they crossed ak-47 with lowryder (i believe #2) and blueberry with it as well then crossed those two to make this so it will be very short already... I'm very excited to see how it smokes, not to mention looks

I'm wondering what is happening with the end of the leaf that's browning. It doesn't seem dead, and if anything it's getting better not worse, but I have no knowledge of exactly what it would be. I'm guessing it was either nute burn or having the pH too high for too long, but what do I know, heh...

Looking beautiful! I'm anxious to see who just straight lowryder #2 does -- another thing I might try is germinating some bag seeds I have, doing the figure 8 power cord mod, and veg growing them until they're only 12-16" tall, then forcing flowering. If they come out decent, maybe cross with the lowryder #2 to get some seed stock....

I don't think I'm personally going to grow anything but autoflowering strains or clones in the aerogarden and I believe I'll have a more elaborate setup by the time I have that much experience under my belt to really go all out on my own ideas. Id really like to see how it turns out for you, though in your setup.

I really like autoflowering characteristics... ~2 month grow, these go from 12"-16", and it showed sex on day 16. I like that I started with hydroponics, too It's really really easy right now to take care of. just a few pH checks a day and once a week I change the reservoir/nutrients.

I'm at pretty much one month now, and although there is some discoloration in a few of the bottom fanleaves, the plant is growing very strong and healthy. The roots look beautiful as well. I got some more pics and a new video to show...

Dunno if I sound it, but I'm extremely congested heh... The aerogarden lights are lower than in the vid, i just had em up for it to get a better view...

1-2 days away from a month now... tiny tiny buds are starting to form with all the new small leaves... pretty hidden by all the large fan leaves as of right now.







So... I can't wait to see how fast these buds grow from now. Everything seems to be going amazingly well for my first grow even though it's hydroponics and autoflowering strains. The autoflowering characteristics are really pulling through for me keeping this baby short and bushy, it showed sex on day 16, and now not even an entire month in tiny buds are already forming.

if i were you, i'd go to home depot/wherever and buy a couple of those sockets for lightbulbs, that plug directly into the power strip, and supplement your system with a few CFLS, just to maximize the system. your plant has the nutes, and what looks like, the temp, but you might as well pull a few more grams with very little extra cost.

Yeah, I definitely plan on expanding the setup further down the line, but as my first grow I tried to make this as easy as possible on me. The Aerogarden lights are for vegging so naturally I'm not getting as much light as I could. Eventually I'm just going to cut out the aerogarden and make my own hydro setup. Thanks for the tip, though! and the reassurance hehe.

Having it just in a closet and not having many things plugged in has definitely kept the temp down. The fan is 18" so it covers a lot of room. I'm not really worried about my harvest for this grow in particular... I just want to prove to myself that I can do this.

This baby's ready to start producing nice resinous, delicious buds now and she's well on her way. I overfed just a little at the beginning so a few of the initial fan leaves had some very minor problems, but nothing hurting the plant really.

Sorry my camera sucks so bad or else I would get some good node pics, but I guess you'll have to wait for the buds to really form to see some of that goodness... but if you look for the smaller fan leaves all over the plant forming, you might be able to see the nodes. As for now I tried to get some shots of the stems so you can see the healthiness of my baby.

Just a small update since it's been a little... pistils/hairs are really starting to form where the buds (nodes) are... showing some real growth now and I expect it to blow up in size very shortly now that it's in it's last 2-3 weeks.
