So, the hindu skunk, the smaller plant, is showing an N deficiency, since the other plant has so many roots in the water, and it only has 4 long ones, the other plant i think is taking more food, how can i help this one out? it has 2 leaves that are turning really yellow, and it isnt growing nearly as fast.

I was thinking of going to get some new airstones today, i have 2 6inch ones, but I think I have store credit and think i wanna have 2 12inch ones. any thoughts on that? or those round disk ones? more air=better for plants right? I'm also thinking of getting an irrigation hub to connect feeding tubes/bubbleponics. thoughts on that?

hmph...Well today, I went ahead and got 2 new 12 inch air stones...ALOT more bubbles now. I changed out the water in the res. and rewrapped it so now it is completely light proof ! I filled the res. to touching the bottoms of the net pots now, so they arent really submerged much anymore. This is just until the roots in the younger plant come out more. They should be coming soon. The bogglegum on the other hand (one week older) has a ton of roots and is going crazy! so they should be balancing out this week forsure. last week I had no roots coming down, now i have tons! (see pics) Well thats mostly all i have for now. pics will explain themselves.

12 Gallons tap water.
10ml/gallon Pure Blend Pro Grow
3ml/gallon Cal-Mag Plus
10ml/gallon Liquid Karma
PH 5.5 (letting drift up and balance at 6.0)
Room temp. 80 F Lights on. 70-75 F Lights Off.

Hindu Skunk- The younger one at the moment, slowly catching up, some yellowing in the older leaves, looks kind of droopy but really isn't, its just bent over from the LST.

those new airstones should help out getting that hindu skunk up on it's feet. What is your water temperature?

It might be a good Idea to raise up the water level a bit more, it will encourage more, new roots to branch out of the base of the clone, rather than just relying on the roots it's already made to branch out further. At this point, you can't really overwater that rockwool, and keeping it wet will encourage more root branching. I'd still keep the waterline right below the rockwool, possibly even just barely touching it.

if you really want to give that hindu skunk some encouragement, attatch a small airstone directly to the bottom of the net pot, I do it by threading the airline through a hole in the net pot.

I have no Idea what those bugs are. Maybe post that picture up in the pests/problems forum, and I bet someone will identify it for ya. crazy little bug, but I don't really think it's something you have to be worried about unless it becomes and infestation, or they start eating your plants.

Yeah i'm hopein they give a boost to the growth. ive only had it for a week and those roots are growing pretty fast i think. My water temp ranges from 60-70F mostly. Will it be ok to raise the water level even though the other plant has alot of roots? Its just struggling cuz its just starting, but its technically growing faster than the bogglegum because i had the bogglegum for a week before i even saw and roots comming out.

well i have a 12inch airstone under each pot, directly. But thats not a bad idea. maybe ill try that.

I dont find many of the bugs, i think they are slowly going away as the weather gets colder. i just find one every few days. havent seen one in a while now though.

yeah, once a plant has a decent root system, you can't overwater it. you could raise the water level up to the top if it was just the bogglegum in there, but I'd keep it right below the RW until the Hindu Skunk has more roots.

At this point, they'll grow just fine as long as the roots are touching water, but a higher water level will encourage more root growth.

alright, so i should mix up a couple gallons of the same nute levels right? and just add it to it?

at the same time though, i kinda want to be using less water, if the water levels drops from when i raise it, and more roots have come out. is it ok to keep the level low instead of topping it off?

instead of raising the water level, i decided i'd try this out. "bubbleponics" . ive seen comparisons and it shows great growth time. for only 7$.

Look what i did. hehe. lets see if this works as good as they say they do, AND i made a slight change, im sure other people have done it, but the end of the feedertube, instead of just trickling out, i put a sprayer. So, bubbleponics? but with a sprayer head, so kind of like aeroponics.

Okay so i think the yellowing in the leaves is/was nute burn. plus the plant struggling. So what i did today was took 3 gallons out of the res. (there was about 11 in it the plants drank 1 gallon) and replaced it with 3 gallons of PH balanced tap water. Thinking of throwing in some H202 to help the res stay good and help the roots out. The water line is now about an inch below the net pots. I hope this fixes my problems with the Hindu Skunk. On a good note. FAST ROOT GROWTH! I put the feeders in yesterday. and today. there is 4 new roots comming out of the Hindu Skunk. I adjusted the amount of water comming out to be a little less as well. You can compare growth in pics from this post and the last 2 posts. They really helped. in just 24hours too! Any tips questions or comments? talk with me Mostly going good so far.

Just added 10ml Per Gallon of 3% H202 to my res. as a preventative because some of my roots are slightly dark in color, mostly due to the liquid Karma I think. So hopefully this helps them out alot. The hindu Skunk is still showing yellowing in the older bigger leaves and isnt growing much, but lots of root growth still. I'll Post a picture in a while. An idea's about what my problem may be at the moment? I took out 4 gallons from the res. and replaced with 4 gallons of PH balanced water, because I think my nutes were a little too strong.

Ok, so still good and bad news. Kind of.
The hindu skunk is still showing yellowing in the bigger and older leaves idk why, i thought nute burn but i lowered it alot, i also thought maybe because its been struggling to get its roots down, and ive since then added the feeder tubes. any thoughts or opinions of whats wrong with it? (pic included) I'm doing most everything I can think of as well as hoping now that there is more roots comming out itll just fix.
Good news, Put H202 in my water just incase, not much of it. Finally got a thermometer for my res. 72-70 with lights on . 65 lights off.
I also put covers over the tops of the hydroton.
Best news of all. like 4 or 5 more new roots are showing and the other ones go reallllyy long!

this morning i was inspecting the roots looking at the growth and the longest root on the Hindu Skunk (The last picture above) it had no lateral roots up to a point but was still ridged where some were going to be maybe? but now I checked and the bottom 2 inches or that did contain lateral roots fell off, why is this? Does that mean anything? damage? signs that there may be small amounts of root rot?

I really needa change my res. i changed it thursday but i think i will change it tomorrow due to the fact that i really want to get that LK out of there completely and see whats up. as i will be switching to Flower on sunday.
