Re: 1stgrow DWC 400watt growbox HELP?

yes, it should dry out quite a bit, and then stay at that moisture. Now, your environment can give slightly different results, so you need to be on the watch to make sure it dosn't dry out completely, but it won't happen overnight like it did this time. Keep the hydroton around the rockwool moist, and you don't have to worry about the rockwool drying out too much.

Fingers crossed for those girls, I've had ones that looked worse come back.

Re: 1stgrow DWC 400watt growbox HELP?

Thats great to hear man, they'll probably make it, but they'll have to veg for a week or so to return to their original glory, but as long as they perked back up a little, they should probably make it.

Keep an eye on that rockwool cube every day, just to make sure it hasn't dried out, but it should start regulating it's own moisture. Soon you'll have roots hanging down through your net pot, and the water level becomes less important.

Re: 1stgrow DWC 400watt growbox HELP?

so i think, the shiva skunk (worse looking one, would be considered dead, it got mostly crispy now, that means its dead right? and it has a few leaves that are still soft and look decent but the top and lot of it is crispy, is it possible that the small leaves and new looking branches are enough to keep it still alive? or is it done for?

I forget..

Why do some growers tend to snip the ends of the fan leaves off? Promote growth to other areas or conserve energy?

to be honest with you, i bought the clones like that, thought i have seen before im not sure why it is done. before i thought it was to allow light to pass, but i think conserving energy may be right

Talking Re: 1stgrow DWC 400watt growbox HELP?

okay so i havent updated in a few days, had to go out of town so had my roommate take care of the plants. The bogglegum survived it looks, but i think it may have nute burn? or something? help? (see pics). Also the one that survived seems to have many new roots on the bottom! YAY! the other one, i think is dead, there are a few small leaves that seem alive and the others are crisp. tell me what you think. But anyways, i got a new clone of Hindu Skunk to replace the dead one. this clone is very healthy and with my knew knowledge i am hoping what happened last time will not happen again this time. The leaves on the new one have kind of bent in the middle, i dont know what this means? the temps in my box have balanced out though i still may upgrade my inline fan as well as get one or 2 more.

let me know what you think any help or suggestions are appreciated.

The recovered Bogglegum, with a few problems? nute burn?

this is the new Hindu Skunk. the leaves are kind of bent upwards in the middle. can someone tell me if this is a problem?

Re: 1stgrow DWC 400watt growbox HELP?

Those spots are most likely from when the bogglegum dried out, watch the new growth, and if it continues spotting, then it's a different problem.

The leaves twisting on the hindu skunk is most likely a pH problem, but a very minor one.

It looks like the shiva skunk actually made it. Cut off the top and the fan leaves, but leave the tops. It might take some time to recover, but that plant looks like it's still alive.

Re: 1stgrow DWC 400watt growbox HELP?

the new growth seems to be nice and solid dark green.
Ill monitor my PH but the last time i checked it was very close to normal. like 6.0.

it made it?! what do you mean cut off the top and fan leaves but leave the tops? which ones? cut off the dry? sweet, well im gonna repot that one then in that case, i guess ima be growing 3 plants instead of 2 now.

cut off everything that is crispy, and that main top that is flopped over. Those lower little shoots will grow into full tops eventually, but it's gonna take a while. I'd expect your other two to continue growing normally, they look good. Are you seeing roots coming down out of the net pot yet?

Re: 1stgrow DWC 400watt growbox HELP?

Okay i will do that right now, i figured a lower shoot was growing but i saw no root growth so wasn't sure. how long of a veg time do u think im looking at for that one?
The one that has the spots roots are growing down out of the rockwool alot but not out of the net pot yet, but definetly touching the water level now. The new ones roots will probably descend down pretty fast.

Re: 1stgrow DWC 400watt growbox HELP?

I have no Idea about how long it's gonna need to veg, it could recover and start growing quickly, or it could take a few weeks for it to grow new roots and get back up and going. You're just gonna have to wait and see with that one.

The plants usually start growing fast as soon as the roots hit the water, sop you can expect some decent growth from them soon.
