Hey man, killer setup. i'm so envious, haha. how long have you been doing this? have you experimented with other lighting, and found the 400w w/ cfls to be more affective, or did you start with the 400w, and decide that it wasn't enough, and start adding cfls?

I've been looking into an automated system myself. Could you give a description of your auto-doser system? i've never actually seen one in action.

Nice setup you have here.. Did you code everything on your own?

Started with just the 2 x 200W CFL's in each room at first then added the 400W HPS after about 3rd harvest and boy what a boost it gives. I am now experimenting with the introduction of the 200W cfl blue spectrum into the flower room to try to give a more balance lighting spectrum not just all red and the prelimenary resu;ts are looking verygood with nice tight bud formation and elevated rates of growth being shown after anly a week of being in the room.

Have been running the setup now for about 9 months continuous with Eidelweiss strain being the first crop out. This is the first crop of the KIlla watt and are in week 4 of flower with the two heavy flowering plants being a week off harvest, these being the trial plants for growth comparisons and yeild.

No bro the coding is taken care of by the controler by built in firmware, you just program the paramaters into the logic of function moduals of the logic and the controler is rigged with 7 digital or analogue inputs assignable and 7 outputs digital or analogue assignable so a lot of flexibility can be incorporated into the control of the room. The main PC software is an engineers tool called the supervisor (TREND 962) and can be viewed at caradon trend web pages who are the manafactures of these controls. Or find someone in the aircon trade and pick their brains on what controls they use, mainly commercial sites are the best. Me i work in the trade so parts are relatively easy to come by and as 85% of the room is all recycled and DIY construction its relatively cheap to maintain. The hardest part is setting up the graphics on the supervisor to give a good representation of the room as the graphics package for the software is aimed at HVAC an Mechanical so a few tweaks are needed oh and a licence unless u can crack the CryptKey

I've been looking into an automated system myself. Could you give a description of your auto-doser system? i've never actually seen one in action.
The auto doser was aquired by a friend of mine as he noticed that it reads EC values but is programable to read out the nute levels in PPM and monitor ph and temp levels of the nutesalong with ORP. Control of the doseing is taken care of by a small dosing pump connected to the dosing controler. The dose controler is in turn linked to the BMS system to give read backs so that pumps can be shut down during dosing and levels and temps monitored. Most common use for this type of kit can be found in boiler and cooling tower treatment systems and will work as a stand alone unit without the need for a BMS system. They are mainly programmeed using direct USB connection, the built in firmware takes care of the rest.

Look around at what the aircon and commercial controls buisinesses have to offer in the way of enviroment control, most controler's will only monitor what you tell it too with a lot more versatility than any controler you can buy from the hydro shop, PH can be monitored, humidity , temperature, Co2 etc etc. Basicaly anything you want to monitor gas or liquid hot or cold can be done. All controlers need to receice a signal this usually being 0 -10vdc or 4 - 20MA depending on the sensor and the substance to be measured. So find the sensor for the job with the right type of output and link it to the controler and tell it what to look for from the tech sheet and away you go.

Every day you are surounded by controls of one type or another, commercial being the more adaptive to use, the corner store thats closed down or the office block etc, nearly all these buildings have aircon that has to be controled the bigger the building the bigger the system the more controls used. A building may close but they dont rip out the controls just the furniture the controls usualy die with the building so recycle if you know what i mean.

you have no idea man. I work at an airport that used to be a military base. there is all kinds of stuff there, just sitting, deteriorating in holding areas that never got emptied. one decomposing piece of machinery has caught my eye, it is about a 10' x 10' x 8' just block of nothing but plumbing, meters, valves, pressure guages, vacuum gagues, everything you could think of, but I have absolutely no idea what the huge, crazy contraption does, but I'm pretty sure it'll have a EC or TDS and Ph, if not some kind of auto-doser, that I might be interested in.

anyway, my point is, could you put up a picture of what yours looks like, so I have an idea of what to go hunting for.

The links below should give you a good start on what to be looking for, the Trend and Walchem site are for the equipment being used in my setup. The brains of the system is a small Trend IQ221 controler that serves all the lighting and feeding pump times along with ventilation and enviroment control for the two rooms. It also receives info from the dosing controler for and the auto doser is a stand alone unit with monitoring pump attached to it.

Re: Fully auto hydo grow system/ 9 x Killa Watt plants and 1 x Critical +/ continuo

Nice man, thanks for the info. I might have even seen something like that at work today, although by the looks of it, most of the meters on that unit are for flow speed control and temp control. I was able to snag a hefty-ass Ph monitor. I need a 24V adaptor, so we'll see if it works once I get one.

That place is a damn jungle man. looks really good. How far along are they?

yeah, I'd say that place is perfect for DWC, if thats the direction you're looking to go. It looks like you're pretty handy, so I'm sure you could make a nice little system for your area. Just plan ahead before you build it and make sure there is an easy way to fill and drain your system. the only problem i've found with DWC is the hassle of filling and draining.

The babes on the left are into week four of their flower cycle and are 10 weeks old in total from clones. The two on their own in the middle are about a week or two away now and were testers for this strain run, Killa Watt being the one chosen for the next few harvests. Have just had to sort out my air pump as the misses been complaining she can hear it, so now its hanging from a bungee like some extreem sport's freak, lol.

On that unit look out for inverter speed controlers cus it sounds like there are pumps on the unit, if so and there is flow control then the pumps may be speed controled. Speed control means fan control if they are single phase units they can be used to run fans.
