sure - you dont need to rush out and buy more air pumps now - but you will need more as soon as you put the plants into the bubblers

err you've confuddled me re the clones - you should already know the sex of your clones/cuttings - that's the whole point

but yes, you can switch from 12/12 to 18/6 and start vegging again - but you increase the risk of producing hermies or stunting growth the more you mess around with light cycles - so be aware

to sex we were going to take a clone from each plant, separately put those clones into 12/12 until they show sex, the idea being that doing it that way will let us know the sex sooner. and ya we're probably not gonna re-veg, it was just another option i knew of. we want to know the sex as soon as possible so the roots don't get tangled and risk less trama when we transplant to soil.

yes that makes perfect sense - just make sure you label the plants/cuttings really well or you'll end up in a mess!

oh and use hygrozyme if you havent already picked out a rooting gel/powder to speed up the rooting of the clones - it is good stuff

Agreed, if youre taking cutting you need some kind of rooting hormone. I use Rootech gel for my clones and mixed with my aero cloner I get roots in around 7 days!!! Sometimes more depending on the strain, but man do they root fast as hell.

Quick update. Ran into a small snag. We're going to need to use bigger netpots anyway because the ones we have now don't reach the water when the bins are as full as we can. D'oh.

So tomorrow I'm gonna jet to the hydro shop and snag some bigger netpots and cut some bigger holes real quick. There's 3-4 sprouts that should already be in there, but they're just gonna have to a wait a little. i'm super anxious to see them take off.

And of course I hate giving an update without some pics.

Got the lights right down on them. Finally got them to stop stretching. The temp is a little high and the humidity is a little low without the humidome. Had a fan on them to keep it nice and cool and to stiffen up those long stems, but it kept drying out the plugs too quickly and probably killed one of em.


probably 3-4 sprouts ready for the bubblin bins, but the bins aren't ready for them. be patient my beauties.

what's the clearance between the water and the bottom of the pots - if it's a few inches then you need to run that big air pump you were gonna get - what I mean is have you checked that the bottom of the pots dont get wet with the bubbles going?

you might be alright - when I start off my plants are in small pots that dont reach the water when the air pump is off - you really want just the bubbles to reach at first - they're super saturated wiith O2 - call it aeroponics if you like

then you'll give them a good head start - then the roots will reach the water anyway and all will be well in the world - lol - i'm so baked

Man I love the ballast!! How much did those bad boys set you back. I really want a 1000w digital ballast when flowering time roles around. Anywho awesome job man I like what I see.

Ya i thought about that. they do get a bit of moisture from the bubblin, but not enough i don't think. Don't have a badass air pump yet. That's gonna have to wait a number of weeks.

I don't really want to go through the trouble of putting them in the netpots, have it not work, and then changing them out. Plus I think with bigger netpots, the level of the water will be perfect once it needs to be lowered without having to play with the float valve. They should be ok till tomorrow. Thanks though.

thanks for stoppin in brotha. and ya those ballasts are sweet. got em from HTGsupply.com. Not certain how much the ballasts are individually since they came with the reflector and bulb as a package. For both the lights it was like $550. I definitely recommend HTG, they are the shit.

well just be careful that they dont sit too low in the water if you dont have a lot of O2 yet as you'll overwater them
