Thanks for the suggestion man! Right now we'd much rather try whatever we can before going out and buying more tubs. It takes so ridiculously long to cover them in foil tape and cut the holes for everything. That's like a full day's work.

What I was thinking is we somehow attach some pvc to the long sides, inside the tubs, at the very top, in the middle. If the long sides were connected somehow, they wouldn't bow out. But I dunno, we're still brainstorming right now.

Here's a crappy diagram of what I'm saying. From a top-down view, the blue is the tub, and the black outline is a pvc tube.

Since our system is like a total of 80+ gallons, it took a long time to dump them out with our little pump. Hopefully we won't have to change the reservoirs that often.

We eventually got the water out of all of them and did some resealing on the fittings. We also discovered we need some small metal worm clamps for the hose attachments on the outside. they didn't seam to seal nearly as well as we'd hoped. Live and learn I suppose.

thanks for checkin in.

When I ran a hydro system back in the day I took the time and invested in a small pond pump from home depot(about $15) to permanently install in each reservoir and ran a system of plastic tubing that connected to a common PVC pipe about 2 ft long so that the pumps all pumped to a common drain at the same time. I glued a water hose hookup to the end and screwed on a water hose and fed it into the nearest bathroom when I needed to drain. I hooked them all up to a common power strip and would just plug it in when needed. Worked like a charm and saved a lot of time for a small investment. Makes sterilization a breeze too.

Thanks again for the help. We got it worked out. Donetodeath will be posting some pics of how we reinforced. They work awesome now. We got those just about sorted.

hey thanks man! We definitely put a lot of time and planning into it and it definitely has paid off. Impossible to forsee every problem but we've sidestepped many-a-bullet.

Re: Chemical/Done2Death :BlackPearl/DWC/ScrOG/1200w:

Nothin major to report. We successfully tested the bins and all is working as it should more or less. We're pretty psyched about that. Sprouts are coming along nicely. Enough chat, here's the pics.

here's the sprouts. we have 3 more in there than what's in the pic. can't tell for sure whether or not these were starting to stretch a bit, but we moved them as close to our 100w cfl's as possible anyway. Just waiting on two more seeds to germ.

our little air pump. puts out a lot for it's size. we're not sure whether or not we'll need to add another just yet.

ballasts mounted on the wall. tried to tuck in the cords as best possible. since they're digital ballasts, heat isn't an issue. we still need to attack that shit with some zip-ties, but we're still working out what pumps and fans are gonna get plugged in where.

inside the control reservoir and showing how we reinforced the bins so they wouldn't bow out. Nice shot of the float valve too.

pic inside one of the plant tubs bubblin away.

all i got for now. cya

Starting to form some nice roots.

pic of the setup right now.

group photo. as stated previously, i know they're stretching a bit, but in a couple days they'll be under 2 600w MH bulbs.

Looking pretty good man just though i'd stop by and give a few suggestions. Looks like you could use netpots double the size. Seems like you have the room on to of your rez to cut new holes. Make sure you sex them fast and get them seperated so you dont have male roots raping your girls down yonder. The stretch looks pretty tall. Maybe a nice oscilating fan for a day without the dome. Let them build up some strength in the stalk. Best of luck to ya!

thanks man. i'll take the dome off and get the lights closer. already have a couple fans blowin that way. and ya i know we gotta get those males out as soon as possible.

why do i need bigger net pots? these ones aren't going to get that big before being getting cut down to a couple moms and then put in soil. then for the clones that will grow out and flower, they'll have a screen to grow on. so support isn't an issue. any other reason you think i should need bigger ones?

Re: Chemical/Done2Death :BlackPearl/DWC/ScrOG/1200w:

lovely bubbbly!!

1. you dont need bigger pots to grow bigger plants - i've done both sizes and it makes no difference to growth - BUT - it makes a big difference when it comes to stability and moving the plants around at a later date - personally at this late stage i'd keep what you've got set up and then make new lids/bigger pots for your next grow - you'll appreciate the benefits after a tree has toppled over a couple of times

2. you need more air if that pics is anything to go by - you should be looking at approx 10 litres of air per minute per 20 litres - so if your res and tubs add up to 200 litres you need a 100 litre per minute air pump and that compressor you have looks like a 25 or 50 lpm unit - O2 is the biggest part of the bubbler system so my advice would be to get as much in those tubs as possible - you simply cannot have enough O2

good luck to you two

thanks alot man for the suggestions. the plants with buds will have a screen to grow on, you think we'll still need bigger pots? we'll probably add a couple more air pumps for sure. right now i gotta get bills/rent outta the way, then we can add some more air pumps.

here's a quick question. to sex, originally we planned on cloning and throwing the clones into 12/12 right away until they show sex that way.

but i know it's also possible to flip the lights to 12/12 to sex then go back to 18/6. however, we plan to use these as moms, so would that not endanger clones we plan to take soon after?

any suggestions for our situation?

Re: Chemical/Done2Death :BlackPearl/DWC/ScrOG/1200w:

it all depends on how much time you have, it takes them about two weeks for the hormons to change to flower, from my experience about three to come back to veg, turning back to veg just seems like forever, I would stick with your forst plan it quicker IMO>>>

looking good man, nice job so far
