Yeah the mediumless cloning is super cool, seems like the way to go . . . I had an aerocloner setup but it didnt work, was loud and I had to refill the water alot. This was before I had R/O water tho and Im thinking it would probably work now, but oh well, the rrs work great for me.

Mordgrow had a killer DIY aerocloner in one of the first threads he started (I'm way to lazy to search for it). I gave gonejah17 all my rapid-rooters and clone tray crapola a while back. I was done doing it the hard way. Straight RO water and no misting with the right aerocloner setup. My cutting never wilt or turn brown in the aeroclone machine.

I did learn something from cloning his Master Kush; cut the bottoms out of the mesh baskets before starting. So much better. I learned some strains have issues with root strength. My WW could pull a train with it's first tap root. But Master Kush's roots will fall off if you look at them wrong. I pulled the roots right off MK six times before I got the hot tip to cut the baskets. Boy I felt dumb (dumber). So simple, yet it took me six times.

Seems like this might be the only disadvantage to mediumless cloning, some strains are delicate and may have root damage. Ive never had a root fall off with medium. Makes sense since they serve as kindof a root anchor.

Still wanna try the popsicle tray cloner, this works great AW or no???

I think rooter plugs would work as well as this thing filled with vermiculite:

Popsicle tray cloner

Weird, that icmag.com has some shit to keep folks from using images from their site. Damn, I use that shit all the time.

i would think it would suck to have to clean perlite out of new roots before putting clones into a hydro grow (would not want it floating around my res)

for dirt grows it would not matter at all

might be right about the perlite, Ive never tried it.

Went in this morning and Margie was all layed down, cant believe she needed watering again!! Havent watered Cruella once since I put her in!! So Margie was looking pretty shitty but I watered her and Im sure shell be cool. Shes pretty intricate in structure, so I hope she recovers fully. Im still using Veg nutes on her, 1/2 tspn of MGAP per gallon, and ph balanced at 6.5

Cheers, Happy Easter!!

i definitely wouldn't recommend that for a hydro grow. The roots kinda grow through the perlite and would be an issue keeping them intact when you pile those rock things that you people use on them.
