| Certified Blunt Doctor | rapid rooters Yeah man I love Rapid Rooters. I started out w rockwool but just heard too many bad things about it. Theyre little brown "medium pods" with holes already in them, but I always poke something thru to make the holes deeper. The rr maintain a perfect moisture, u cant reallly waterlog them but they will dry up and turn a light brown if they go too long w/o h20. I THINK they might have some beneficial bacteria in them???? Not sure about that. With my clones that are almost rooted I let them dry a little but with the brand new ones I try to keep them moist at first. I just used a regular rooting tray and cut it smaller to fit inside my clone chamber. I dont use a humidome. For the first day they might lay down but they stand up by the end of the day. I usually hand water them twice daily (morning and night), but if I go in there in the middle of the day I might check the new ones to see how theyre doing, might spray a little on the leaves. Let me try to find a pic of the tray . . . here we go ![]() HTH, Seriously tho AW, Im so jealous, I thought I read somewhere ud been to quite a few Dead shows?? Thats something special man. Big up for that man keep those memories ![]() |

thanks man great info!! I like the idea of a more organic medium and something more PH friendly than rockwool. I've been having to water my rockwool everyday, but from reading your post that seems normal. a few more questions though (lol sry) should i use a lower PH as if i were doing hydro till i put them in dirt? do the roots grow through the holes in the tray? If so are they easy to get out? do you have to soak them for a long time before use? I think i'm gonna try them out next time i hit up the shop.. although it's been 7 days and my rockwool clones look like they're rooting. thanks again dude appreciate it! PS ya i saw 140+ shows from 86-93 it was real good times.. hard to explain. definately some crazy shit |

. Not sure what they're actually made of though. And they're moist in the packaging, which makes me think Gonejah's right about the beneficial bacteria.Whatever the case, I love the things.

yeah I mean RW WILL work, and Ive never really had problems w it, but the RR work too and are a little more forgiving I think. To tell you the truth I just scoop water out of my R/O tank with my spray bottle and dont even check ph. I know my R/O comes out around 7.2, so a little high but it works fine. Clones root. I dont soak them for long before, I keep them in a sealed ziplock bag (they come in one) and keep them moist, then throw them in a bowl of water to soak for like 30 seconds before using them. You can kindof squeeze them like sponges under the water to get them to absorb, u cant do with this RW cuz it crushes it. AS far as the roots growing thru the tray Ive never had this, but I check them every few days for roots, so as soon as they poke out of the rr at all I xplant them to my ebb flow. Ive stuck them in the ebb flow bnefore I saw roots on the outside (but knew it had rooted inside there) just as experimentation and theyve all rooted. So I kinda do it half ass (dont lower ph and all that) but it works, if u did it with more care itd probably work even better for you. I get about 90% success rate with this, and when they dont root its usually my fauly and not the RR lol. I find if you get a nice thick stalk that goes in there solid it will root for you. I dont even think you really need rooting hormone. 140 SHOWS?!?!?!? I got a flex capacitor lets go back and take me with you!!!!! | |

thanx dude i'm stoked to try it! gonna take a few more SD clones before that one gets too deep in flower. I'm digging this well water ever since i found out it's just filteder and not put through sodium or anything.. it gives me 190ppm with the brita filter. Sounds like a better method than rockwool for sure. shit i'd go back in a second man.. cept i'm not sleeping in a 72 skylark in a parking lot this time lol. |
