Basic advice for growing in my closet

I'm working with a closet that is 10 ft wide x 6 feet tall x 2 feet deep. How many seeds should I plant so that when all of them mature, I'll still have room (minus the males). Also, how many lights would get the job done in this amount of space and what price range would I be talking for them?

Cool, thanks for the tips. How many mature plants should I plan on fitting in this space? Will I need mutliple 400 watt lights? I want to maximize the amount I grow at once.
