flowering under 24hr light

As a first -timer, i would like to ask if anybody has come across a case where 6 out of 7 one foot high plants began flowering under 24 hr light from a 400w H.P.S . They had been vegging for 5 weeks. This was about 2 weeks ago, and they now appear to be flowering nicely so i am not that worried- just curious. Incidentally, 5 of the original 7 turned out to be female so i dont think stress was to blame.

ok...i hope you got the males out???....yes it has been known in certain strains to flower whenever the plant feels like it.....what strains i'm not sure of....just double check with someone else but if they're flowering i wopuld reccomend going to 12/12.....Peace out....Sid

thanx for your reply sidious, the males are history and 12/12 is what they are enjoying since flowering.
