I am completely new to hydroponics but have done alot of research up to this point. I found plans online for building an ebb & flow 11 plant system which I have assembled. I was wondering what schedule to run as far as how long to leave pump on and how long between waterings. I read that it should be run only long enough to reach the overflow point and then allowed to drain and the cycles to be every 2 to 3 hours. Is this correct? Thanks for the help.

it'll depend on your plant and it's stage of growth. From what I've been reading, every 2-3 hours will encourage root rot. It seems that most people running ebb and flow (and i don't think there are many here) start at once a day for the seedling, go to twice a day in veg and as the plant gets bigger go to three times a day. Towards flowering, 4-5 times a day seems normal. These people are running 15 minute flood cycles, too.

I run a 3'X4' e&f and I run mine for 30mins (easy to do with a timmer):
24/7 and 18/6- 5am, 9am, 1pm, 5pm, 9pm, 1am (light 24/7 or on from5am-11pm)
12/12- 11am, 3pm, 7pm, 11pm, and 5pm (light 11am-11pm)

This is my second grow and the first produced 2 oz each plant (15 platns). You can check out my gallery to see pics of my set up.
