Well, I was talking to a guy, that said I should switch to 12/12 once the plant is 1 foot tall, to make it flower. But the problem is I dont really want a huge tall plant, i'm growing secret (aren't we all) so when is the earliest time I can flower? And will schwag smell real bad, if its in a closed box, in a closed closet, in a closed room?

you can flower when its like 6 inches tall and shwag would bardly smell if it was a small plant like your growing

well now I have no light, the one I had got way way to hot, and im sure if i left it on 24/0 it would start a fire, so im not going there, and im trying to grow secret, so can I use a nornal 60 watt light?

No you cannot use a normal 60 Watt Incandescent bulb....

There is no reason why a flourescent should be getting that hot, a regular bulb would put out 2 or 3 times more heat and kill the plant.

oh and you dont have to flower earlyy, id just veg until ot was foot or so and transplant to a small pot. i have a plant in i think less then 1 gallon and it is about a 1 1/2 feet tall and goona be harvested later this week. on the other side i got a plant in a 5 gallon bucket and that fucker is 6 feet tall. so just find the right size container

Thats the point, I dont have a flourescent light. All I have is like a 150 watt regular yellow-ish white light. I have my grow space all ready, I just cant get a flourescent light

I understand your wanting to be secret. I am not sure how old you are or what you may have on your record but when it comes to growing my feeling is, you have to except that you may get caught, but regardless would you rather get caught with a rag stringy plant or do it right? What I did was looked up online what falls under Federal Crime and Possesion. I found out that If caught with under 4 OZ it will be possesion. SOOOoo I only grow one plant at a time. This way in court, its easy to explain that it is for personal use only and they seem to be more easy on ya that way.

On another note: Wanting to keep the plant small and compact is NO PROBLEM! That is one of the best things about growing herb. You can do just about anything you want as long as you do it right. First I would say "do your homework" Read REad REad! The more you know the better off you are. About the light. Many folks have grown under Flouresent and say that it can happen. I believe it. However what you have to understand is that Cannabis is a plant that is a light lover. As well, it likes certain spectrums of light color. Most will say that while (vegatatively growing) you need a more blue color light such as Compact flour, or Metal Halide (MH). Then when its time to (flower or make buds) the light needs to replicate what happens in nature by becoming more red yellow spectrum and less light (create fall) by using a (HPS) High Pressure Sodium and restricting your light cycle. Keeping the plant short can be done by selecting a seed that is an Indica (plant that is used to colder climates as apposed to sativa which orignates in a warmer climate such as Mexico, Jamaca, Afgan, etc.) that you know will stay short, and flower early. I am in the same situation with wanting to keep things hush and I have successfully harvested 3 oz from one plant even though I started them on 12/12 and never changed the light cycle. This wont always happen, but it can. This was done however with a known strain from a dutch seed bank that I knew would produce a heafty amount, but it CAN be done. DO NOT keep your plant in a small pot. keeping it in a small pot only means restricting the root growth and leaving you open for more problems. Use a 5 gal bucket and give your one plant plenty of new air. Use a fan, and if your worried about smell pick up a cheap exaust fan from a hardware store and place it in your grow area. Plumb the exaust with a few feet of dryer hose and stuff it with dryer sheets of your fav sent. LOL this wont take away the smell but will mask it enough to not raise question. GOOD LUCK!

There are many good garden light makers out there. Search for the one you want/need and buy it! its WELL worth it. May cost you a few bucks but shit think about how much you are saving by having your own bud. And once youre seeds pop you wont stop. You can make it worth it over and over and over. Yes I think there are alternative energy systems you can buy for flour, but if your a first timer its more cost effecient to just get what you know works and it will be cheaper and better. BEST ALL AROUND LIGHT in my opinion is a 400w HPS but I have grown a plant or two under 150w hps. MAKE IT HAPPEN! Good luck!

You can rig anything if you put your mind to it. You could use a generator. If your worried about electric usage get a small buisness licence for like 50 bucks and give the buisness name something to do with gardening. That will cover your ass. Another thing, the box inside a closet, inside a room, inside a ....sounds like a fire hazard. As well sounds like you wont have much air circulation which is critical. I could explain that all to you as well but just trust me. Close off the closet so that only you know how to open it. maybe lock it. Make sure you have a little fan going at least every other day, and exaust the whole thing some how. If you are handy, cut a whole in the top of the closet and pump your exaust up into the attic or space above but make sure you cover your sent. Then when you get done growing or leave that house for good, just pull out the exaust fan, and put back the square that you cut out and paint over it. No questions...
