What is the legal definition of one plant?

Any living pot plant matter will be considered a plant, no matter how small. You know how sometimes they'll make a bust saying "We got this guy, he had 50 plants" when really he only had 10 plants ready to harvest, a few mother plants, and a bunch of baby clones.

What spurned this was an article I read about root grafting. In a aeroponics system, you could theoretically link all of your plants rootsystems. I believe I read somewhere that the legal seperation of two plants is that they have independent root systems. Therefore if they were all interconnected, thats one plant.

thats very interesting, noctorum. id love to see the DEA agent's face who tries to bust a 100+ plant grow op, only to find out he only found one plant.

That would be nice if it was true, but i kinda doubt it. The police wouldn't let you even try to prove it.

It's not really a matter of proving. They'd have to take pictures of the room before they destroy it, for evidence. You'd be able to look at the roots and see.

They would argue that the "one plant" was capable of producing dozens of pounds of marijuana, definitely NOT for just personal use.

Theres no way to scientifically calculate the exact yield of a plant. A good lawyer could have a mistrial declared if that information was introduced by the prosecution.
