Grow Room Suggestions Pics

Hi, I am very new to growing, but am also very willing to learn. ive researched a good deal on these forums and on overgrow.com, and am pretty confident of the basics of growing.

that being said, heres my setup.

Its an old shower converted into a grow room. its about 3 ft x 3ft, 9 ft tall. i covered the walls in aluminum foil, bought two 45 watt CFL's rated at 2000 lumens each. i have 5 pots containing miracle grow potting soil, and my seeds are currently germinating in a tupperwear/wet paper towel container sitting on a heating pad under my bed.

any suggestions? how long will this particular setup last me? will i need to upgrade or get a bigger space? any help is greatly appreciated.

hey man! thats a good start! once you pull the males there should be enough room. I doubt the lighting will sustain them for very long. splurge on an hps it WILL pay you back! -T.Bug

you shouldn't put foil on the walls but instead paint the walls with a flat white paint

foil just scatters the light white paint repels the light reflecting more onto the plants

just google it

Foil can cause hot spots on your plants too. Other than that, for you users saying HPS is the only way to go, you are completely wrong. Im using only CFLs for my first grow, and I have 2 females growing really well under these lights.

hey, yeah it wasnt an option to paint the walls, its at a buddy's house and we couldnt permanently change anything. ive read tho, that foil is bad if you put it shiny side out, but as long as the dull side is facing out its good.

oh and warezhaxor, how far along are you in your grow? could you give me details on your light setup? maybe even some pics if youre up to it haha.

Or you can try silver anti detection foil, the time will come that you're police uses the same equipment as ours (heat detection that messures a different of 0.5 degrees celsius)

This foil reflects the light and stops the heat going out

For reflection it won,t do no Harm (every bit of light helps) Yes, I was fucked up once, They took 500 plants wich where ready to harvest. That's the reason I can't go to the states anymore (they just won't let you in).

The police activety in Holland is going worse so every commercial grower is looking for places in Europe where you can pay off the police or where they don't know anything about growing (the penalties are much higher there)

But they will never stop us not even with their infra red choppers.

Sounds like a great growing area! 45 watt CFLs will work.. I would just be a little careful of the heat in your grow area.. the CFL and the aluminu, foil in that area.. might get a little hot in there!

Good luck though, youre off to a great start!

a 45w CFL will only generate maybe maybe 200 degrees on the actual bulb within inches the heat will disipate to 80 degrees no worries on heat but yo still need fresh air in their. GET RID OF THE FOIL it only has 35% reflectivity (or something)and is only good for COOKING. top three reflective materials. 3. flat white paint 2. Styrofoam 1. Mylar (its cheap to only like $10 for like 200 ft. if you know where to look)

don't worry bout the cops infered choppers he had 500 plants and you have 5

ditch the tinfoil you will burn ur plants, get mylar or if you cant get ahold of some, you can find emergency blankets almost everywhere and they work. Secondly do not use miracle grow potting soil they wont grow nearly as good as they could if they grow at all. Get a bag of potting soil and mix it with equal parts of rocks or perlite. Just go to the store and ask someone what would be the best soil for growing tomatos indoor and you will get what you need. Also if you don't have the budget to afford a hps light (400 watt hps at basementlighting.com for 90$) try to get some more cfls, my very first grow i used 12 x 40 watt floresents and the yeild was hardly anything, as for the lights, 18 light and 6 dark until you want it to flower, then you just simply change time to 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark. Try to keep it 100% dark if the lights are out. Also, fertilizer is very much important if you want to grow marijuana indoor. For soil Peters 20-20-20 is good. Follow the directions and try not to over-fertilize your plants here. You can put the fertilizer in the water you use to water with. After the seedlings are 3" tall let the soil dry out on top before you water again. Make sure you transplant those once they get their second set of leaves, Bigger the container the better. Hope you learned something from this , happy growing

Foil sucks. Dull side, shiny side, whatever. Don't use foil. If you can't paint the dude's walls, then paint some plywood or posterboard and put that up around your plants. Or, you can do it right and use mylar.

Is it wrong to masturbate to pics of pot?

those FLUOREX lamps I'm always talking about.

Just a note to all that keep PMing: I'm just a customer of that place. I know the owner ‘cuz he lives by me; but, I can't answer questions about shipping or stuff the dude can get – you have to ask him. I invited him here but he doesn't want the risk.
