Hello all I just wanted to stop in and tell you all how they are.
I started my seeds October 7th (10 seeds)in a soak with a very very weak grow solution..... they sat in the water for 24hrs then i did a 15 min dunk test if you don't know thats where you tap the seeds into the water to see if they will sink or swim.... if they sink they have potintal if they don't trash them..... then i put (8 seeds) into the paper towel method and waited another 24hrs.... of those 8 seeds 4 of them had roots (which was more then enough) so I took those 4 seeds and planted them into my 1in' rockwool cubes and buried them roughly two 1/2 inches in my hydro clay pebbles After the weekend I came home to find out they were already sticking out of the top of the rocks so I declared Monday the 10th as their birthday ..... well to get to the point this is my set up...

1-general hydroponics top feed hydro modified to fit my grow style so its sort of like a self watered hydro bubble bucket (see picture)

2-cfl's putting out 1600 lumens each (going to be adding more lights as they grow up [all cfl])

1- cfl tube 1ft long cool white (don't know the lumens)

1- 24hr timer set 18/6

many nutrients
and 2 loving parents

I spend one hr a day with them for the carbon dioxide oxygen exchange
and they are only watered once the pebbles dry out and nutri feed every 2 watering

let me know what you think ........ oh yeah and I'm going to be doing LST

This will be updated every week (if I remember)

~o~o~UPDATE~o~o~

Well My children are now 2 weeks old so here is their first first update

Pic 1- is the older one about 1 1/2 older

Pic 2- younger one (she) is looking a little yellowish

Pic 3- Heighth comparisson to a lighter

I don't know why the younger one is looking yellowish (you can't really tell in the pic) but she is. She seems to be staying a day behind her sister but she is lighter and her leaves are broader and longer. The older one is a dark green with thin shorter leave She just started on her 2nd set of 5 leaves today the younger one just finished her first 5 set.
Both are starting on their 4 node and are the same height (well almost just a couple cm)
The younger ones very very tip is a little burnt but I think it will be ok. I had a grow light in my closet for just that little bit extra light but it got too hot so I took it out and they look better.

Uh i don't know why it would get yellow so early. Looks like you have a good set up in order. What do i think? I think your doing pretty good, looks perfect so far. Just hope them plants are girls for sure.

thank you for the kind words everyone..... I think that I might heve introduced my nutes a little too heavily so I'll flush the system then just plain water for another day to see if that will help

Well there is a unexpected change in plans..... This guy at work is going to be donating one of his 1000w HPS to my adventure. So I will take my week 3 picks and then its on with the hps...
side note i will still be using 2- 40w cfls till flower for the lower foliage ..... stay tuned

Ok I HAVE SOME MAJOR CONCERNS.......... i NEED SOME ADVICE IF YOU HAVE ANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE PICS THEN READ MY QUESTION3 WEEKS OLD

HEIGHTH&OLDER ONE (ITS ACTUALLY TALLER THEN THE LIGHTER)

Ok so as you can see(or maybe you cant stupid camera) my lower leaves are turning yellow. The tips are also turning brown about the width of pencil lead.........their is also one more symptom there are small brown spots on the bottom 6 leaves only one spot that I can see on each leaf.
So heres my question did I over fert and burn them or could this be a deficancy?
or
Could this be salt lock my grow rocks have white residue on the bottoms of them.
When I went to the local hydro shop thats what they said the posibilities could be any suggestions would be great
PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think invigiro is the best nutriants for veg stage thats what im using and my plants are turning out perfect.(knock on wood) thats my 2 cents

HEHE some good news....... I borrowed a 400w HPS until I can f-in afford one. I'm going to run it or a couple days at three feet and then move it closer to the proper height. I hope they start looking better! ::crossing fingers::
NOTE: the older one is 4" and the younger one is 3" hope

well started the plants on 400w HPS on Wed so its been 6 days and I also started LST on the older plant. So here is the update the leaves on the first node on both plants are dead

. But they are thriving under the light the temp runs around 85-90 degrees I keep the door open and the ac on in the bedroom. I can't find any f-ing floor fans to help me vent because its "winter" (just as a side note i live in Arizona there is no such thing) so all they are selling are f-ing space heaters (maybe in Minnisota) but the younger one is 4.5 in. tall ant the older one is roughly 6 in. its hard to mesure w/ the curve (but he exploded) also only watering twice a week

You can really see the yellowing in these pics..........so how do they look?

what way does if feed you plants???? usually the ring sits on top of the pebbles and the airpump forces the nutes up throught the ring...

Ive the same system and I feed mine at least 4 times a day for 15 or 30 minutes periods depending on how far they are flowering....

feeding twice a week is not enough thats probably why the lower leaves are turning yellow...
