You can clone anytime the plant has shoots long enough to clone (i.e. 1 or 2 nodes at least). Better to take clones from all the plants early. Put one from each plant under 12/12 lighting to determine sex early. Keep the females, throw out the males.
Cloning takes a little time. I don't think you would have time to clone for outdoor planting. 10 days to 2 weeks to show roots, then the plants need to be sturdy enough for outdoors which means another week or two. Which puts you 4 weeks down the road.
It's pretty easy if you follow guides here. Best used for keeping a strain alive for future grows (perpetual harvest - indoor method). Hope this wasn't just rmbling nonsense lol
