Low Stress Training with Pots

Hey, me and my partner recently made the decision of growing outdoors. First we were going to plant them into the ground, after a few weeks of vegetative state, but then we thought it would be better to put the plants in pots/tubs for the sake of convenience. Would it still be possibly to train/stress the plants? I cannot mentally picture it, so if anybody could give an example it would be appreciated.

Go to the grow journals and search out anything by Vokal...he has a link in his sig that explains everything with pics. He converted a few of us growers on LST

I just tie them down with yarn and use binder clips on the edges of the pots

i love using this method, its very effective, as lucian said, use binder clips, clothes pins, and string/yarn to tie back branches.
