Female Male Question

alright, i might sound stupid but i'm new to all this. what is the difference between male and female plants and how would i go about making sure i get a female plant? is there any steps of ensuring this?

you always have a chance of getting a male (unless you buy feminized seeds). you can tell the diffrence when they begin to flower. the famales will have pistles with little white, yellow, or pink hairs sticking out, where as the males will have small clusters of balls that contain pollen.
