Question About Growing Lights

Would a red light work for growing? Would black lights work?
I have plenty of both...dont want to spend $$$ on special ones...

NO,,,,and NO,,,flourescents are not that special,,or expensive..They are basic eguipment for starting a good grow...

most important spectrum is the blue.....red is also important (green is not...thats y plants appear green...they dont need that color and reflect it...thx ninth grade bioilogy) but red produces more heat and less growth than blue....so with a red (or black) light you'd be wasting time....line ndica said....flourescense (sp)
