Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Jaded1983, Feb 5, 2009.

  1. which is better for vegging.. 6500k 25w or 42w 2700k? and how big of a difference will the growth be?

  2. 6500k for Veg
    2700k for Flower.

In perosnal experience not much, but when I installed the 6500k bulbs they shot off.

  3. that didnt really answer my question.

    Yes it did.

The title says "2700k vs 6500k for vegging"

    From my personal experience

6500k apsoed to 2700k is better for veg growth.
2700k aposed to 6500k is better for buds.

    question answered:hello:.

EDIT:Also neither of those wattage will do much good for a plant anyway.
A base 100 watt is needed.

  5. so even with a higher wattage on the 2700s im better off with a lower wattage 6500k?

  6. See edit on the last post.

  7. one of my bulbs is over 7000k...i wonder if thats better or worse

  8. How much higher and how much lower? Your question is too vague to be answered.

  9. What is the actual spectrum?

  10. read post #1

  11. Just go up ti Home depot or Walmart and pick up a 6pk of 23w CFLS.

    That will grow 1-2 plants.

While your there invest in some Y-splitters
    They are real helpful

  12. Your question has been answered 5 million times. Try using the "search" function and not get defensive with your response when somebody actually does take the time to answer it AGAIN for you.

  13. 6500k is most definately for your "vegging"
There should be a large disparity in growth , but as swim hasn't ever tried to veg under warm light only , that is only a postulation.

  14. 7800k

  15. If the choice is between one 25w 6500k vs. one 42w 2700k, I probably would advise against trying because a single bulb in either case is not enough to light.

  16. And to djbenzo405, I'm not familiar with any 7800k bulbs, but I think your spectrum is getting too far off.

  17. it came as a grow bulb in a fixture i bought
    its a purplish/pink
