| 65w HPS light heat question
I'm planning on making a stealth box out of 50 gallon cooler. I'm going to stand it up on it's and brace it against my closet wall. I was going to mount floro tubes on the inside going vertically, and use a small 65-70 watt HPS for the canopy light. The way this particular cooler is built I can make a shelf to put the plant on and adjust the height of the plant instead of the height of the hps lamp. So since the lamp can stay stationary I can build a cooling tube for it.
Bad thing is, a cooler + HPS even in a cooling tube might become a gigantic heat issue. I planing on the cooling tube and the vented air from the growing chamber to use the same exhaust so I only have to build 1 carbon filter, but seperate intakes. This is so i can use a frozen bottle of water to cool the air in the growing chamber if it gets to hot.
This will possibly be my first grow with an HPS lamp, but I don't want to spend the money on one if I'm going to have a box to hot to grow MJ in. Does anyone have any growing experience with hps lamps in confined spaces? Would it be bad for the hps lamp if I tried to run conditioned air thru the cooling tube?
Also, does anyone have good beginners info on wiring? Like I said I'm new to HID lighting and I want to make sure I'm being safe with electricity. I don't want to start a fire or get shocked to death or worse lol.
