Outdoor strains and planting

I only grew once before and a lot of stuff went wrong. first rthe seed company was late by 2 weeks and some were growing mould. And when I finally got to planting It turns out I planted too late and I had to bring them in and dry them early and when I sampled my new product it was ditch weed! so please tell me what time is good for planting outdoors in the mid Atlantic region and what strains are good.

Plant in the spring after the last frost. So basically, you will have to wait until next year.
