I am wondering how many watts a typical 110V house hold wall outlet can handle. I was going to run a few CFL off one and wasnt for sure if i needed to run a line from another room in the house to the area that needs light. Please help!!! Also.. what happens if i put too many watts on a outlet?

if you have the kind that are one on top of the other its 1,100 per outlet, or 2,200 per set of two. With CFLS i highly doubt you'll get to 2,000.
by the way, the way you figure that out is Volts*Amps=Watts 110v*20amps(the US standard) = 2,200watts
