about to start my first grow

I am going to be growing a few plants in a crawl space in my basement. Its about 3' tall in one spot and 4' in another about 2.5' wide. Im just not quite sure as to what lights/soil/nutes one would recomend. Ive read a couple stickys on growing for beginers but also want insight from what you guys had success with. Im planning on doing lst with the plants to maximize the yeild with my limited room.

Does anyone have any good recomendations?

also im just using bag seed because its my first grow

sense ur limited on space, i would recommend getting cfls, 2 for each plant atleast, or u could do one, but more light is always better . soil, stay away from miracle grow, nutes u dont really have to get that big bud shit and bloom. im using miracle grow all purpose nutes 12-8-4 and my plants love it, costs about 4 bucks and lasts along time, feed every 14 days.. good luck

Given your space you cant do a HPS/MH set-up, which is fine. Keeps it simpler for the first time.

Get a combination of Floro tubes and CFL's. You'll want some red spectrum lights cus they're better for flowering (CFL's that are approx 2700k colour temp)

As for nutes all purpose does work, but the best results is to get a veg nute and a flower nute. I'm currently using Botanicare's Veg and Flower, which you use every watering (save flushing), and works quite nice. Its a tad expensive (30$ for a large jug of each) so 'm sure there are cheaper alternatives, however with growing it pays you back to invest in good materials.

Soil wise i use Coca/Perlite mix, and its excellent. Great airation and drainage. I'd reccomend it over typical potting soil.

And yes, Low Stress Training with your limited room would be wise. I'd reccomend growing them at a near 90 degree angle.

If you happy to have excessive money, nice extra's are shit like B1, Superthrive, Grozyme... but those are hardly nessecary
